Matpat literally made my childhood I'm so sad

Its truly like losing a childhood best friend. They were always there for you and you always enjoyed being there to listen to them. All the years of great memories bring a tear to my eye. Nothing great last forever but this friendship made memories we will never forget.

Matpat was unironically my introduction to the internet. I quite literally grew up watching him with my brother and my cousins, and he influenced me in SO many ways. Not only is he just superbly intelligent and funny, but also a genuinely good person. I’m gonna miss him so much, but I’m also beyond thrilled that he gets to have time to himself to focus on personal projects he wants to make

It’s like losing a parent. A parent that was there for you. A parent that was like a warrior. A parent that would cheer you up every time your sad. I will miss matpat. And I will NEVER let him leave from my heart 💜

Honestly I was sobbing the whole video, but I don't feel so upset afterwards. Maybe because MatPat's words in the video felt reassuring and comforting, and because he said he'll still be apart of like the creative team.

Out of everything I planned to happen this year, I never thought this would. I expect many people to quit but definitely not MatPat 😭😭 I've been crying for almost 4 hours now bc of how much this stings.. But in all seriousness he definitely deserves to quit and be able to make Ollie his main priority

i completely understand why he’s doing this because 13 years of youtube is insane and i have to say he has achieved his goal of making this world a better place, he’s changed so many lives.

I started watching him 11 or 10 years ago, and i’m absolutely devo that he’s leaving, but now with his team taking over, kids who stumble on the channels will get to grow up with them. matpat will always have a place in our hearts

It’s sad to see him step down, but I’m glad he’ll be able to spend more time with his family, and I’m excited to see all the different projects he mentioned, and whatever ones he might come up with in the future, that he’ll now have the time to work on.

I've wanted to be more like him ever since I was kid. His influence has left an indelible mark on everything I create.

He's the one who got me into my fnaf addiction life 😭😭😭 he was a huge part of my childhood! Game theory wont be the same without his iconic voice! I've grown up as a military brat. I've lost a lot of friends from just moving away. I kinda didn't really think about it. It never hurt. But MatPat, he hurts to see go. He was one of the only people who actually stuck with me during the moves, even if we never knew each other. I've never really cried over something that hurt me or made me sad, until now. Thank you MatPat. Godspeed.

He is the main one who built up most of our childhoods, he is the reason i knew about these other games and other media, he’s a nice man and im sure the other team members will do a great job stepping up for him while he steps down.❤️

Watching Matpat's video just now, has left me in shock. It's like seeing one of your closest friends or family members say goodbye to you forever. I've had a terrible afternoon today and just hearing this just made it slightly worse. However, it's not the end. Even if Matpat is gone from Game Theory, we all can still cherish the memories he gave us. There's a famous Dr. Seuss quote that fits this perfectly. "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened”. I'll miss you Matpat. It was a blast.

It’s hurt so much more since it my last year in high school and Matpat was a BIG part of my childhood. No, he WAS my childhood and taught me so much stuff and help me pass so many science classes, lol. Still, time go on and that once little girl who love to watch theories is now going off to college to make some herself. This is not just saying goodbye to Matpat but my childhood as a whole, just like everyone else is doing. Part of me is happy that I had dealt with this type of thing, like with unus annus because it made me more stronger and willing to let things go. Nothing stay forever, that why we must enjoy every minute of it. The memories will live on with me and everyone who watch his videos, because it’s not just a channel, it a community, a family of theories.

matpat quit and my poor doggo is on her way out as well. today really, really sucks. I respect his decision so much, so much, and it has been such a great experience watching him. I'll have fun watching the new videos as well, but I don't think it'll ever be the same. And that's not a bad thing-- like he said, it's just new. It's a change. And change is terrifying.

The worst part about being famous, is you can’t get to know everyone. I wish he could see what I have tried to tell him so many times, but he won’t see me. What’s the point? Matthew, we love you. It is undeniable that we’ll miss him, I’ve watched his videos for about 6 years now, and they’ve introduced me to franchises that have majorly improved and changed my life, he was our childhoods, it’s sad yet respectable, thank you, matpat, for changing not only my life, but many others.

Dude, I literally started crying after the animation. He's actually retiring YT. I only knew him for 4 years, but it felt more than it. I learned so much from him and laughed at so many of his cringe moments and jokes. Him leaving was basically a shock to me and to everyone else. It's like saying goodbye to a close friend, y'know?

I am truly happy that I even got to experience growing up 'with him' (moreso growing up watching his content evolve and him also grow to be what he is right now), and I am also overjoyed I was actually there to watch him come and go through this experience. Never will I forget what he has taught not just me, but basically the whole internet, and never will I ever forget how he helped me go grow into who I am now. From being my only comfort to one of the people I've never met yet trust fully with my heart, I only hope for him to live out the rest of his life content.

Damn. Matpat made a huge mark on my childhood and I'm gonna miss him so much. Many popular youtubers are quitting and bunnycat is moving past fnaf. Change is scary, but I never thought that it would happen to me, and it is truly heartbreaking for me. My friends are changing, the internet is changing and I feel torn because it's hard for me to move on and let go. It's like just yesterday I was watching an animation meme and vibing to a Bendy song. I hate myself for not accepting that things can never last forever, for thinking that everything and everyone will stay the same. I don't know what to do.
