0:19 Can we just appreciate how good this CG shot still looks for a film made 17 years ago? It may not be completely convincing as Hugo Weaving but the textures are still palpable and he feels like he's actually there, to me at least. Great sound design also!
playing this slow mo in slow mo .25 makes the water on smiths face look like it should stay were it was as the face goes to the left. see how neo punches the water drops the water stays were it was as his fist keep traveling to the left. anyway just a small thing i noticed it doesnt take away from the awesomeness
it's definitely a combination of a digilat liveshot and computer animation. You can read how they made it in the book "software studies", by Lev Manovich.
super epic just the idea of it the force the slo mo nobody was topping the matrix since it dropped in 99' then other movies tried to capture its art of effects 😂! yaw can't top the original! Every superhero show/movie etc tries to copy ✋ #fansince99
When CG Neo punched CG Smith I lost my mind for the first time. Watching it back now... I can't believe the studio let the wachowski's do this. They must have had so much freedom.
Good animation but bad physics of motion, the jaw of mr smith must remain iqual to the instant of the contact, but it's move in the opposite direction, this is not realistic by the inercia effect and the impact's velocity.
I think it's right tho, I'm no science dude and stuff but at the first few frames you can see how the jaw moves towards the correct direction it's supposed to however it then bounces to the left which is correct after I saw a bit of slow mo face punch vid in the internet
@@knightfallprotocol Or...it's good CGI because of how I justified it. As long as it doesn't break your immersion of the world and scene it's serving, it's fine. Some movies/shows succeed with this. Some don't. The Matrix movies and this scene in particular through its execution, succeeds . No two ways about it.
@@cuccamunga Agent Smith literally looks like a PS3 gummy person during this moment so..yeah..it DOES break my immersion and take me out of the world. Good CGI does not have you thinking "This looks fake as fuck" the whole time. 🤦🏿♂️
