Here is some unique footage I made during my stay at the Matsubayashi-ryu Nagamine Honbu Dojo, Okinawa in spring 2008, when I trained every day under Nagamine Takayoshi Sensei for 6 weeks.
I do not have training footage of him and I, simply because I was training, not filming, and most of the time, there were no other students, except young Nagamine (no family relation).
It shows many details, equipment, certificates etc. of the main dojo hall. Also, while it shows the main dojo hall, there were side rooms, locker room, and other places of interest such as the old study of Nagamine Shoshin Sensei. These are not part of this short film.
Since the house and dojo has been demolished after Takayoshi Sensei's passing, there is no chance to visit it anymore. Therefore, this film might be valuable footage for later generations.
Personally, it is a unique memory for me and also sparked my interest in the interior design of Okinawan dojo.
