It is not about the money it is about differenciating herself from the character. Like she said, she feels shy and needs to use formal language when using the other voice.
Yeah and I think it's not bad to have some separation between those two to deal with some potentially stressful situations. But wow, her real voice is amazing. 100% honest my heart went quicker when I heard her real voice. Wasn't expecting that at all
@@gnuhgnauqneyugn The youtube channels are pretty agressive with their titles especially for her. Thumbnail and title of these reveal videos are so plump that it hurts. I always wish they would at least be a little subtle
I absolutely understand why she uses the voice that she does, its easy to forget that she was one of the first holomems (4th overall, tied with Fubuki). So she really wanted to maintain that Idol persona. It's only been the past year or so that Hololive has exploded in popularity that the girls are finally more comfortable just being themselves. She's still our perfect -GOD- Matsuri either way.
By the way, she was the first to break the mold so to speak. She was a bit of a problem in the early days because she was swearing and screaming. She was always getting scolded but when the 2nd Generation came and everyone did that, Hololive just stopped caring about it.
Was the same for me just now, wow her real voice is amazing. It probably isn't even the real voice, but just I could notice it's not as much a character but just herself.
Part of what makes the forbidden lore so interesting is seeing what kind of backgrounds and skills they brought to Hololive. On one hand you have small time NicoNico veterans and Subaru, on the other hand you have several reincarnations and a whole side-branch of real powerhouses.
When i hear Matsuri's normal voice, i imagine something like this: It's late at night, you go to bed and try to sleep, but you can't, so you call your friend "Sorry for calling to late at night, i just cant sleep" you say, and then he replies "Nah, don't worry, i can't sleep either" and you just start chating.
Well, her normal voice feels like the mature beauty that's sitting at the far end of the bar, holding a classic daiquiri glass with a hint of sadness in her eyes and irresistible faint smile on her face.
Honestly if you wanted to see towa's normal voice you could just watch her first few streams Towa was new to the streaming scene in general so she didn't exactly have a streamer voice like the others

I mean Snuffy the racoon girl said something along the lines as that, but mostly cause it just felt more natural for her to speak like that. At this point, her fans won't care as much if she uses her real voice or not, they want to take in as much of her real self as possible. I could see why they had to be like that in the beginning since it was like the stone age for vtubers and u gotta grab all them peoples attention somehow. Hoshikawa voice is a whole different beast in itself

@@sned_dunes i think its also about language compatibility. it sounds ok even when i hear it in chinese or korean language but when i hear it in thai or vietnamese or indonesian or filipino language its just as cringy as western(every european language+english)

I think both is her real Voices the difference is her usual voice is "when you're excited type of voices" and the other one is calm Voice, you can try it yourself cuz for me it's like that
@@juampisito Well your vocal cords can change (especially if you use them a lot, or you were very young when you first started) so a voice that's easy once can slowly become more difficult. You could have also chosen your streaming voice poorly when you first started of course. Some of them have outright said their streaming voice is easier on their throat, because it's more smooth and controlled.
@@Philweasel I know I know Suisei one was super high pitched and her normal voice is deep. I wonder about Matsuri cause her normal voice is also deep but idk she has not talked about voice problems to us( I only see clip so I could be just unaware of it). Subaru has talked a lot about voice problems so maybe she has to change it at some point.
I love when VTubers and content creators in general are more casual about this kind of stuff instead of everything being "forbidden knowledge" and only coming out by accident. Respect.

Ngl my favorite 'streams' from matsuri are her bedtime twitcast streams. I like the chill vibes over the overly energetic and cute stuff. Don't get me wrong though, I love matsuri in all that she does and she'll always have a special place in my heart for pulling me down this rabbit hole but soft spoken matsuri is just GODly
eh, I like the different voices personally. It's hard to explain. Maybe it's just because I prefer to think of them as people playing characters. To each their own.
I don't even remember my real voice, my voice changes when I use different languages and different accents and I'm trilingual so I have a few different voices, I just consider my native language using no accent as my real voice. But even then I mostly speak in English so I don't really know what voice I should use.

Thing is, whenever i see that Vtubers are putting on a voice, I have nothing but respect for them. I could never hold up a voice that isn't my real voice for that long without it slipping out
Matsuri's real voice is like when the cutesy character in anime becomes serious and decides that she won't tolerate the MC's dumb ass anymore... Also, I think some of them have their mics set up so that their cute voice would be more distinct, so when they use a lower voice it becomes very different (sometimes sounding very close to the ear, or sometimes muffled)... Matsuri's is set up for her higher pitched cute voice, I think... This also means that for Subaru specifically, the set up is completely different for her usual streaming voice which is very loud and energetic as she mentioned and that when using her "real voice" or serious voice which is a somewhat quieter voice (almost the same with her phone magic asmr technique), it would sound especially different because the mic is not set up for a quieter voice with a completely different energy (thus sounding more real to others probably because people don't really talk with that much energy in a casual converation, even though her usual voice actually sounds "real" to me already because it just has a different energy). Subaru's voice is unlike Matsuri's cutesy voice which is a literal cute voice that doesn't just involve the voice energy but many other factors. A complete set of voice acting skill and voice range. I really like their voices and what they do with it...
I think you got it confused with Subaru she needs to lower her voice down outside of vtube yeah her voice is still lowered so the ducks or her fans won't get ear damage but I could be wrong
@@hirogamer01o46 What I mean by her "real voice" is the quiet voice she sometimes does that people assume is her actual voice leaking... (is this what you're talking about?) If you're talking about what she does when she collabs with others offline, then, according to her, she does lower her voice so she won't drown out others. People usually have a pitch that they're comfortable with within their voice range, if you constantly use a pitch higher or lower than your normal voice it would strain your vocal cords. So I definitely think that with her energy and regular streaming, it would be a matter of time until she exhausts her voice, but this is not the case since she's still clearly very healthy which shows that she is not changing her voice and if she is, then it is not too far from her usual. Suisei actually experienced her voice being strained and now uses a more relaxed and slightly lower pitched voice. As a singer, straining your voice daily is really bad, so now she has a more ara-ara voice but she's still really energetic. I'm talking about pitch and stuff but I don't really know anything about music, so I'm hoping what I say is correct. If not, then I'm just spreading misinformation, which is bad.
A lot of people tend to forget that it doesn’t matter what tone of voice is real or fake. The truth is, your tone and pitch varies according to the excitement and dopamine in your body. That’s why some people are loud when say, on a trampoline, because it’s fun and exciting. Just because Matsuri raises or lowers her tone of pitch to adjust to her character, doesn’t make it fake or real. It’s naturally part of who she is.
Agreed. Also, even when things are "fake", those "fake" parts of a person are still a part of them. People frequently have difficulty dealing with the differences between personas and the "true self", but to me the personas people put on still came from them and frequently are just as real as the "real self" is. (Say someone who's shy who puts on a persona of someone who's confident to help them be able to handle social situations. I feel like just looking at the person as "they are actually shy" is discrediting them and is ignoring the part of them that has confidence). (Sorry if this comment went a bit off subject, ever sense playing Persona 4 Golden years ago I can't look at this kind of concept the same way again, and I find it really interesting).

i don't think that'll happen like ever. even if everyone demand for it. because that voice is the kind of voice she decided on her own to voice her character and i'm pretty sure she'll stick to it. unless she has some serious conditions of course, like suisei.

Didn't she start out talking in her normal voice? Been a while since I last watched her, but I remember her sounding tomboy-ish a couple years back, quite like Subaru actually.
there isnt much of a difference imo. This is just slightly deeper than her normal voice. I think it sounds even deeper because she is talking somewhat quietly into the mic
The one and only thing id change about vtubers is that i wish they al spoke with their real voices. Both because its more genuine but also for their health
Honestly, I wish the trend of having high-pitched fake voices would stop at some point. Suisei, Snuffy, for example, have already gone to their real voices. I know it's a cultural thing but deeper and stronger voices just sound better and more natural.
Not sure if it's the mic but the bass on her voice and the reverb in my ears i just... I dunno how to describe it, it's pleasing and a little overwhelming?
This reminds me a lot about when that guy was talking about how harsh reality is with studies and growing up, and Matsuri was like so broken after that This is like the same thing, but in reverse, and less harsh because it's Matsuri
