Philippians 1:6 one of the clearest verse that will explain matthew 24:13... The saved will surely endure,.. Because if Jesus began a work in someone's life. He will enable that man to endure..... It's not by works. It's always about grace
Great teaching Brother Rick! There are many professing Christians (works righteous Pharisees) who have done a LOT of damage with verses like Matthew 24:13. On one hand there are the Arminians who say that we have to work to keep our salvation, and if we fail to do so then we lose it. On the other hand, the Lordship Calvinists say that unless you persevere at their sky high level of commitment, then you prove you were never saved to begin with. What they fail to realize is that the term "saved" in the Bible does not always mean saved from hell. I think that's where they get a lot of their erroneous teachings. Keep making these videos Rick. There are a LOT of struggling Christians who need these truths. God bless! In Christ..... Ben
Jesus said just before this in Matthew 24:10 it says that many will "Turn away from the faith" and 2 Thess 2 talks of a great "falling away" . . . so, those who don't stand firm have "fallen away"
That is exactly what I believed not too long ago. And it was because I got away from the fact that eternal redemption from the *debt* and *penalty* of our sins is without any merit of our own. We have no strength to redeem ourselves. Why in the world would anyone at any other time in history have that kind of power? They don't. Lord Jesus would not have to die for mankind/for sins of the whole world on the cross if people get faith+works salvation in other dispensations, that's what it comes down to; basically. God could have given a law that would give life, but then righteousness would be through that law and not through redemption in Christ.
Well if we endure until Christs return what happens at his return? We are caught up with him and this body is transfigured. The corruptible puts on incorruptible. We are then no longer ordinary flesh and blood so we are in our eternal bodies at that point
I suppose you will say that the Lukewarm who are vomited up are also saved? The Goats, and Foolish Virgins are also saved? The weeds among the wheat are also "eternally saved" . . . so, everyone is saved and no one ever "falls away from the faith". . . Therefore you don't have to obey God nor do you have to repent of anything because after all . . . . everyone is "saved" eternally ! This is just lukewarm teaching and causes people to believe that Satan himself is also saved . . . after all, once saved, always saved.
Rick I have a question for you do you believe that first John 2:19 is teaching that if a person stops trusting the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior but they never trusted in him to begin with your input on this would be appreciated thank you and God bless
+Tyler Heidenreich No, I believe that those people are the false brethren spoken of in Acts 15:24. See also Gal 2 where Paul speaks of these people in verse 4. They weren't believers ever. They were just tares in the wheat.
+justthinken1 I do not know completely what all will be preached during the 70th week but it will include what was preached during Jesus ministry (Matt 24:14) and what we see the angel preach in Rev 14:7. A simple answer to your second question is no, it will not entail works. A person will be saved by believing what is preached as the gospel during that time.
And actually I don't believe that it means to endure in works as you just said after the :45 mark, but rather endure in sound doctrine 2 Tim 4:3, many don't want to endure in sound doctrine. @1:36 "verse 9"Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you:"" So you endure in works for mortal salvation? And SHALL KILL YOU, the Lord said, so IF you endure in works for mortal salvation why are they killed or was Jesus just making a joke? So after 1:36 I really didn't see the need to listen anymore.
We don't live by works what works could I do to earn my way into heaven you throw out the entire New Testament because you don't know how to write fully divide the word of Truth unless I'm mistaken then you do believe in faith alone unless you're one of those people who constantly Miss quotes James because they don't understand how to study God's word and context
That’s the truth. If you read the whole passage of Matthew 24 then you’ll understand what Matthew 24:13 means, but people who don’t believe in eternal salvation immediately want to put this as Salvation’. If you don’t believe in eternal security then you’re not saved!
No you're wrong it's talking about last days those who endure to the end and do not take the mark those who do not turn away from God during the tribulation that's what it's talking about
Are you saying that if a "Christian" takes the mark of the beast they are still saved? The Bible in Revelation 14:9 gives a warning that anyone who takes the mark of the beast WILL NOT BE SAVED . . . ! Regardless of the "faith" they have anyone who takes the mark of the beast: If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
. . . my point is: This is what it means to "fall away" and/or "turn away from the faith" . . . it is those who had shallow root from the start. It is a matter of syntax as to how you describe these people as being, "saved" or "not saved" the fact is this: They came to hear the Gospel and the WORD was planted in their heart; then they lived and went about their business for who knows how long . . .??? And then at some point, some kind of hardship come and they " . . . quickly fall away" So, for you to teach that this is not referring to salvation; to those who, "quickly fall away" it does refer to their salvation as far as they know. That is what is called the weeds among the wheat, the goats, the LUKEWARM, and the foolish virgins. All, "believed" they were saved and "lost" their salvation . . . as far as we who are truly "saved" we use terminology and say, "They were never SAVED to start with" but this is just a matter of speaking . . . you understand that according to the bible, 5 were wise and 5 were foolish. There were WEEDS among the WHEAT and the LUKEWARM are VOMITED up . . . and Jesus himself said, "they fall away" and "he who stands firm until the end shall be saved" . . . in other places it is even more simple: whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved . . . but those who fall away must be in some way angry at God and refuse to "Call upon the name of the Lord . . ." The point is: they do lose their salvation according to the bible. They may have been WEEDS from the START and GOATS from the beginning but nonetheless they "believed" that they were saved and were surprised to hear: Depart from me for I never knew you . . ."
Again: Jesus spoke of " . . . not everyone who says to me Lord Lord" . . . you know ?? And Jesus says: Depart from me for I never knew you . . . These people are calling Jesus LORD and expecting to be "SAVED" and yet they are not "SAVED" . . . do we say, "They were never saved in the first place" . . . or do we say, "They lost their salvation" . . . ?? It is just a matter of syntax. Proper biblical doctrine is to just say EXACTLY what the HOLY BIBLE says . . . and there is nowhere in the Bible where it says, "you cannot lose your salvation" and there is nowhere in the bible where it says, " . . . they were never SAVED in the first place" . . .so we shall leave it at this: There are WEEDS among the WHEAT, there are GOATS, and anyone who takes the mark of the beast will be DAMNED . . . we can also refer to what Jesus said:Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. (Mat 7:21) here we see that DOING the WILL of God the FATHER is important and could be considered WORKS - - wake up bro !
Why would they say, "Lord Lord" . . . point is: They thought they knew Him but they never knew Him close enough. These Christians believed they were SAVED and were surprised to be rejected of God . . . many are called and few are chosen. These people were called and God revealed himself to them but they never OBEYED GOD enough to "build" on the ROCK. In other word: True, they were never "saved" in the first place but to them they "were saved" and then "fell away" or TURNED AWAY from the FAITH. This is BIBLICALLY ACCURATE to quote verse. It is not biblically accurate to even use the term "saved" because in the bible it is always referring to the future . . . will be saved . . . So, let us quote bible verse and not use phrases like: "Once saved always saved" (that's not a verse) and " . . . never were SAVED in the first place . . ." that is not in the Holy Bible either. Instead the bible says: Great Falling away . . . Lukewarm will be vomited up . . . and Foolish Virgins "miss the bridegroom and the door was shut" . . . These are biblical terms and are more accurate. In other words: let us used bible verses to describe the situation and not our own words.
