Matt Bellamy and Dominic Howard from Muse stopped by KROQ's The Kevin & Bean Show to talk about their brand new song "Thought Contagion" and the band's upcoming plans.
MY FAVORITE BAND AND STILL GOING STRONG. I've loved them since 2006!!! ❤❤❤ I probably haven't loved them as long as other people, but they are my number one band
the funniest interview to date 🤣 so many good questions and banter between muse and the hosts. matt and dom looks happy too. dear matt if you wanna live longer pls be healthy. whatever it takes, I wanna see you guys again in future. even in 70 y/o body, I will come and support 🥹
Hah! Great joke guys. Every Muse fan and person going to your gigs wants Fury. People have been saying this FOR A DECADE NOW. Throw it in the set list for crying out loud!
Every person going to their gigs do NOT want Fury. Maybe you should take a look at some videos of Muse playing rare songs in front of big audiences in the past few years. Except for the people in the very front, everyone just stands completely still, silently.
Same ... They said it would happen, last year, as a project called "The Origin of Muse" ... And then Matt Bellamy said the project finally "fell down a rabbit hole" on Twitter.
Would be totally different from Radiohead though. Radiohead released a previously unreleased song which they had finally managed to record in a way they were pleased with. It works as a "single" because it hadn't been released before. Fury however HAS been properly released, and it was even included in the Japanese version of Absolution.
RockStar_MP Dom said that "no one knows it apart from our hardcore fans" they were talking about a standard/widespread crowd that has a little amount of hardcore fans
David Dalton I probably shouldn't have exagerrated, but like you said, the majority do love Fury. Slightly off topic, but what is your favorite song on Absolution? Mine is Butterflies & Hurricanes
David Dalton, RockStar_MP just to join the conversation my favourite has to be "Ruled By Secrecy", but "Butterflies and Hurricanes" is one of my favourites too!
4:27 I agree. «The dark side» is one of the best tracks at the moment ;) 12:17 You're so wrong! I love Fury!! It's one of my fav songs. I can't believe that you think people don't know it or like it.
I'm always impressed by the lack of knowledge that Matt seems to have about his own career. "Two or three of the songs we never played before". Well, only one actually (Easily). I also find funny that Dom think that Fury is a song that they love way more than the fans, since he and Chris voted for not including it in Absolution and in the pool for the rarity gig at Shepherds Bush Empire was the 4rt most voted track.
They don't even know their own fans. Fury is a major fan favorite that rarely gets played. If they played it more, they'd definitely see a positive reaction to it.
They do know their own fans, but they're obviously talking about the average concert goer as opposed to hardcore fans. Watch any arena live performance of Fury from the past few years and you'll witness a dead crowd.
Precisely. I saw them during their Psycho tour, which was basically small club shows that mainly hardcore fans attended, and they played a bunch of older songs that the mega fans loved, including B-Sides. They know what the hardcore fans like. It’s just that most concerts they have are arena shows filled with casual fans and some that don’t know their music very well. That’s especially true if they’re playing festivals. They’re trying to put on an entertaining show, and if 95% of the audience doesn’t know songs like “fury”, why would muse perform it for the 5% that do? While I do wish they played some of the deep cuts that I love more often, I can completely understand why from their point of view they wouldn’t want to play them.
I can understand festivals, but how many non-muse fans are going to their arena shows? Dom said no one knows fury apart from "really hardcore fans." I don't think that's true. I think even a lot of casual fans have heard of Fury.
"First of all, RIP Chris I liked that dude" Me: pauses HOLD THE FUCK -googling in a panic- ..eh? press play "oh he just didn't make it to the intervie? alright" ffs I had a heart attack for a minute
"Fury" is a fantastic song! What are they talking about fans disliking it?! They might throw it in the setlist once or twice and see how wrong they are.
Someone Strange my friend once told me it sounds like dick down and it's how I call it from that day, so it'd be from the day it was released xD I couldn't unheard it
I'm pretty sure fury is known by all muse fans? If not, it's pretty easy to find bf safe to say it's a favorite... As for the weirder, "deep, dark" stuff... That's their best material! In my opinion anyway.
"Fury is a song we really love playing, but nobody really knows it apart from hardcore fans..." Thanks for seeing me, Dom...been rockin out to Fury for 10 years now, what an underappreciated track.
Fury is *my* favourite from the album… along with Absolution I guess… and Ruled by Secrecy. My god I love that one. (yeah, I love that album, and I love Muse ^^')
"Christmas is good for business." 🤣 And , I just noticed, why is everyone (including us) grabbing their water around the same time during this video? 🤔
I love black mirror. And fury is one of my favorite songs from Muse! Hyped for a new album and singles! Im not so keen on this new song yet, but so i was for dig down and i realy start to like that song! (Just as psyco before that).
MUSE is the Beatles of the Now! We (StudioPictureCars.com) own the black corvette in the video "Thought Contagion" so I got to stand next to the boys during the filming of the video and they are so very busy! They are way hands on literally! They worked till the sun came up! Greatest night of my life. I should have had them sign the car for me.
@@officialelviscostello_ I did not remember how to pop the hood so we could jump start the car! I don't think you were too happy about that time out! Haha
'still trying to get dom to sing on something. when are you gonna sing?' dom: yeah..... CAN'T WAIT 🙂 lmaoo he's so funny. this is why I like his humour
this video reminds me to michael jacksons thriller... a bit, and the music to imagine dragons radioactive, but like. like always, you've got to listen more than once before it hits the ear
Please play fury in America. Portland Oregon especially. I know no one knows it but people gotta start knowing it at some point. One of the absolut(ion)e best muse songs.
Jamie Chillingworth The problem is the new single sounds like muse trying to sound like Imagine Dragons. So far the singles out right sound like this will be an album full of dead inside type songs.
Guh... -1 respect points for Dom and Chris for not feeling Fury. That song is my everything, and I was so BUTTHURT that it wasn’t on the vinyl edition.
This was great, but I thought it was fucked when they couldn't actually play the song. So you have the band promoting their new single on the show, but wait! We can't play the fucking song even though they're literally giving us permission right now. Who the fuck made that decision I wonder.
