One of my favorite Matt Christman appearances, you have to check this out. Matt riffs on pro-Trump country music. Fortune Kit's podcast is / fortunekit
@@auditmail4842 what we couldn’t see in podcast form is that Buddy Brown’s “truck sessions” take place on a Toyota hilux with a dhsk mounted on the bed.
It's definitely refreshing to hear him in a setting where there's someone to keep the discussion on track and Felix isn't draining all the oxygen out of the room
@@RememberShuffle For me it's someone who uses the classic conservative talking points but they still want to be commercially viable. They don't want to be too offensive outside "vegans lol" & "welfare lol"
If he'd bothered to read the rest of the book of Matthew, he might have gotten to that inconvenient part where it says to treat everyone as though they were God, including the imprisoned, the poor, the sick, and the disabled...
Wrote this in a minute-to the tune of the song around 4:00 I just worked my blue collar job/now we headin to the field/got a beer keg and bonfire/ girl you know it’s real/ put your barefeet on the dashboard/and we’ll crank up some strait/did I mention that the party’s hosted by the K-K-K OHH I LOVE YOU BABY LIKE A SOLDIER LOVES THIS LAND/ and I’d fight for your blue eyes like them boys in Iraqi sand/ la la la la la gonna drink some cold ass beers/ la la la la la better than those lib’ral tears … party in the field
thats the thing though. country is so inherently conservative, I feel like music like that today would be considered more folksy or Americana in a way. I cant think of any other genre of music that does that
@@campfortson4387 it funny, I'm about as far from conservative as you can be but I can separate art from politics. I just love the music and have no problem calling it country music which let's face it, is what it is.
I had to stop and find out who Phoebe Bridgers is and watched her snl appearance and GOOODGAWWWD! That stuff was ... It was bad. However, GREAT pic of Matt in front of his Chevy all decked out and ready to Honky Tonk. YEEEEE-HAWWWWW!
the worse part were the libs online tsk-tsking it because it "set a bad example" Newsflash: noone young ever follows the "right example" unless they hate their peers
@@tewodrosii2875 Wow ... I forgot about this and watched it again after I listened to some of this lady's music ... She has some nice sounds and in this instance was def a TRUE pro. That guitar must be made of IRON wood. Season's Greetings to You and Thank You for reminding me of this TALENTED artist!
Matt's understanding of rhymes in music is hilarious. I wanna see him react to that video of Eminem rhyming with "orange." I mean, you're right the music does suck, but it's not because of the reason you keep pointing out there
Could you put the air date for context? I can often at least tell "oh this was around the summer riots" or "this was during the Trump presidency", but more specificity would be appreciated
You know it strikes my King Herod killing every first born son because he had a vision that one of them might eclipse, in the New Testament is just a retelling of how the Pharaoh feared the newborn baby boys of Moses’s generation in the old generation. And I’m not saying I know of every religion or mythic teaching but the myth of Chronos is serves as a very similar telling of how he feared his boys so first Neptune, and Hades so he ate them. But Rhea fearing this disguised Zeus as a stone. And so Chronos ate the stone and regurgitated up the stone Neptune, and Hades. And it all fits in with mother theme in the Bible through all the stories of the Old and New Testament that there is nothing new under the sun.
There is a subjective quality to all stories biblical or mundane, even one’s truth depends on perspective, the hero or the heel. What’s important it the larger message they tend to carry and how it inspires, connecting one generation to the other. As the first story is the only story and it will be till the end.
@@nedrobinson7490 I play and I don't sing, I just play mostly Brazilian samba, Fado music, classical pieces. I also teach guitar. And you most definitely are.
@@Garrett1240 sir, It wasn't that bad. still beat another snooze fest of some boomer band like the stones or the who. "everyone with taste" is just mad the new stuff isn't for them. get over it
@@tewodrosii2875 Yeah singing falsetto for the entirety of a song with the token profanity placed throughout behind sugar-pop beats is very artistic indeed
@@Garrett1240 still beats whatever YOU'D think is artistic. Lol go cry to your mommy & daddy about how "unartistic" it is. Noone but you & other trad weirdos have a problem with modernity as far as culture.
