The essence of the story was about the balance between sports and politics, meanwhile Invictus was 99% politics. Also how some of the scenes were shot was just underwhelming as well as the acting(except Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman). The story still hasn’t been told in its fullest. Maybe you can’t tell it in a feature length, perhaps a Netflix series would work better. We will see.
Something like 78-80% of a murrican "football" game is down-time, you can search for it yourself and see. Murrican "football" is almost as fun as watching paint dry if you really like watching paint dry and the amount of commercials is just silly, the whole sport is a marketing tool. Sure, you can say "but hockey has down-time" and my reply is not even remotely close to the same amount as murrican "football".
"Exciting" is subjective. People from outside the USA is not used to so many commercial breaks and down time, that's a big drag for the sport enjoyment.
