I remember learning to play that intro and how exciting it was. Here we are nearly 30 years later and it's still the first thing I play anytime I pick up a bass. Legendary!
man, this is literally the first song I play every time I pick up a bass. one of the greatest punk rock bass riffs ever written, imo! love that you're doing this, man. and it looks like you're having fun. keep it going!
Out Come the Wolves properly introduced me to punk and changed my idea of what music could be-and this line is one of the main reasons I picked up the bass. Much love Matt!
Awesome video man! That bass line is what hooked me at age 12 to Rancid and punk. First heard it on my way to Bozeman Montana to see you guys at Warped Tour 2001. Inspired me to pick up the bass and find a love for punk rock. Can't wait to see more videos!!
Hey, man!!! Thanks for sharing this!!! You are one of my teen age's hero, and I learned a lot, listening to you, those days! Cheers, from a bass player, in the south of Brazil!
Been playing bass in local bands for 20 plus years. Matt has always been my inspiration on the bass. I can't really think of who that is on LEAD vocals. But backups? Richie Sambora. Ha ha. Bring that hate
I wonder if this would sound better with the audio from the song and the bass track being recording via an audio interface, rather than a (what I presume) laptop microphone. still sick as hell, huge fan of your work. thanks for all the years of inspiration.
As with any great band they are always more than the sum of their parts and trying to put too much credit on any member a flawed.....but it can't be understated how much Matt's part of the Rancid equation is pivotal.
