Back when I was in middle school I met Matt Hardy at the Southpoint mall. He was in one of the stores and they had emptied everyone out for his security. I slipped through security narrowly and was just me and Matt Hardy. The security was pissed and said I had to get out. Matt let me shake his hand and was like "what's up buddy". I still cherish this moment dearly. It was just a normal day for Matt. Thanks for shaking my hand that day. Make me remember that heros do exist!
I waited on him and Jeff in Greenville Sc at Miyabi’s Japanese steak house. I still have a picture and they were giving out stickers at the time. They were very polite and tipped 25%.
@@The.Original.PotatocakesI was so relieved when I read that last sentence. Without that, I assumed you waited outside the restaurant for them… peeking through the window. 😮 😅
@@adolfob3370 if you have a chance to go there the food is alittle expensive because it’s a hibachi place but the food and sushi is top notch. They told me they liked going to the mall in Greenville.
I really liked how when he talked about his career and future, it wasnt just about him. Matt and Jeff are a packaged deal. He knows it, and he knows the fans know it. The love he has for his brother is great.
It would be far less entertaining. I love Jeff but getting him to talk much seems like pulling teeth. I guess that's what having your brother speak for you for 20 years will do. Matts always been the representative of the brothers.
The Hardy boys mean sooooo much to me personally, Jeff is my all time favorite wrestler and the hardy's is my all time favorite tag team. Chris we need Jeff next!!!!!!
Jeff is tough to interview. Because he's such an introvert it's really hard to get answers out of him. Supposedly even in the locker room he doesn't talk much.
Matt Hardy is SoOoo Humble and Non Greedy bout His Career.. We Must of Heard Him Say Jeff Hardy More then 10x. Brother Love to the Max! Gotta Love It. Family over Everything
Real shame that he would've gotten the Hardy tag push he wants if Jeff gave more of a shit about his brother and his legacy than drugs. I know addiction is a disease and all but when does he have to take personal responsibility? Jeff is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time but I can't get behind him anymore because idk if he'll be there next week.
I really do feel the Hardy Boyz ARE this business. Professional wrestling is the love of their lives. They really should come back to WWE, enjoy a well written run that leads to retirement and then they could produce matches and help young talent to TV, I feel that’d so much for both Matt and especially Jeff.
People love to hate on the Hardy’s and claim that they “need to retire” but I’ve been to an AEW show. They got the biggest pop of the night. We let flair go till he can barely move; we can let the Hardy’s finish on their own time.
You can tell that Chris Van Vliet is a BIG fan of The Hardy Boyz. He's been smiling the whole Interview. Chris was such an Awee of Matt Hardy Presence he looks like a kid in a Candy Store.. I have never seen Chris like this in a interview 😂😂😂😂 AWESOME INTERVIEW
Fantastic interview, Chris! Matt Hardy’s insights on his AEW journey, potential WWE comeback, and the enduring legacy of the Hardy Boyz are truly captivating. It’s always a treat to hear from wrestling icons about their experiences and future plans. Keep up the great work! #AEW #WWE #WrestlingLegacy 🤼♂️🏆
Once again CHRIS you got a good one!!! Matt is so cool. SHOUT Out to the OG's still in the game!!! He's got me by 4 years and he's still crushing it!!!
Funny enough I watched this Interview on my couch, the same couch I sat on when I answered a FaceTime from my Brothers phone (at comic con) and it was Matt saying hi to me 🤣 it was quick and unexpected but I appreciated him doing that so much
First video ive watched other than clips! This was great! Great interviewer. Awesome listening to Matt talk. Him and Jeff are my foundation as a wrestling fan. Thank you so much!
In 2003, I found out that one of my friends my senior year of high school was Matt Hardy’s cousin. He happened to be in MLW at the time. Only then did the cousin discover that I’m originally from Raleigh, NC. He took that information back to Matt & Jeff, who I was a huge fan of. I saw him again in MLW at the next show in the same venue (For reference, the shows were MLW Hybrid Hell and MLW Wargames 2003.) the cousin told me that Matt & Jeff wanted to recognise me as a member of Team eXtreme. To this day, I’m pretty sure I’m the only member that hasn’t signed to a major wrestling promotion.
This was Awwwwsomee... *Clap *Clap, *Clap*Clap*Clap No but seriously, Great Pod Chris, & I can tell you were definitely a real follower of the Mattitude Era, because most people I knew growing up gravitated towards Jeff & I was like alone in being the BIGGEST Stan of Matt Hardy, every version, when I was younger. I literally grew a chinstrap beard & everything because of this guy. And I remember when he was Heel & had the Black/Blue tights & he did like a RU-vid poll in 2010 on if he should go back to the pants & I made sure I voted that one up. Early internet adapter, Inovater, & flat out a good dude... Thank you Matt!!! ✌️☝️
Absolutely love The Hardys. Met Matt in 2012 and he could not have been sweeter. The one goal I have is to someday meet Jeff. Thank you for this interview
What a great interview. Matt is a solid guy. I agree with him 100% when it comes to him and Jeff’s future. They gotta win some matches and be treated with some respect. Losing every night does nothing for them or their opponents. Let’s make it special.
He said he's hoping for one last run as a tag champion somewhere else, and to me, somewhere else means he knows they won't be pushed to the top of the card in AEW, and probably not in WWE. Don't be too surprised if they pick a new destination.
I remember wayyyy back in like 2005? or something they came to Binghamton for a WWE show they were one of the few superstars I met that day. Super cool guys.
At 50 years old he is rocking it. God bless him. It’s important to not abuse drugs and alcohol to that point that no one wants to get too. God bless him
Back in September I met jeff hardy at the airport as i was coming home, ironically live in north Carolina as well, and it made a really crappy night at the airport before so much better. He was really nice and had a quick conversation with me. Unfortunately ive had a lot of tragedy since then. Its still something I look at fondly within the last year. I hope to meet matt one day.
I will also admit that I don't always watch all of Chris's interviews from start to finish. Maybe I'll watch the shorts. But a lot of the times as you watch the interview you realize that this person is just a normal everyday person and sometimes it's such a great interview and it gives so much insight into who they are that it kind of wipes away that shine that mystique about them as a wrestling character. Which isn't a bad thing it's just the way my brain works. Not saying that Chris does anything wrong is an interviewer. But there are a few people in the industry who when they interview as themselves in a real life situation they are larger than life or they are a completely different person or you don't expect that personality to come out of them. Matt is one of those people. Professional wrestler Victoria is one of those people ivory is one of those people. Hulk Hogan really isn't. Because it's like watching someone interview behind a fake wall. None of us really know what we're getting out of hulk Hogan. Is it real is it fake we just don't know
I can't see the Hardy's missing the opportunity to work with Edge and Christian again when all 4 men in their final years but Tony shouldn't have them doing so little in the meantime
I like how Matt said he changed up his in ring stuff in 2005, yet did that gnarly ladder spot at Wrestlemania 24. 😂 In all seriousness though, the stuff both he and “BROTHER NEROOO!” put their bodies through for our entertainment is beyond admirable. The old “hold my beer” mentality is still strong in the Hardyz arsenal. Thankyou both for leaving a trail of memories. And thankyou Chris, for another BANGA video! 😁👍🏻
Loved Matt over the years but it is probably time for him to hang em up. It saddens me to see him hobbling around like he has done for the last few years. He won't though, he will go until he can't at all. His choice
From 8:50, Matt on his contract: "...a tag team somewhere else...". This is basically the biggest hint The Hardys are on their way to their last big run.
I laughed out loud when you turned into a mega mega mark and showed him your backyard footage. He was so patient about it too so respect to him for taking the time to let you do that when he was clearly tired and had a long day.
I can say I meet Matt at a mall in Kansas. He was doing the broken Matt at the time and could not have been nicer. Right before I took the pic he did his broken laugh it was awesome.
