Someone sent a message..."Not very exciting" "you guys are not doing very much"...you have to understand..you cannot see whats actually going on here..the controlling of one another, the energy at play...the many attacks that are stopped..it is something you must feel to really understand. It is a constant game of control...then someone makes a mistake.(mostly me) and Bang!!! Doing Chi Sau with Sifu is a humbling experience...you can feel the power and control..Its simply an awesome experience..

Think about the pressure Ip Ching and Ip Chun must have felt growing up under the shadow of Ip Man. They are both excellent ambassadors of Wing Chun and their level of skill is awe inspiring. I love watching Ip Ching as like me he is more aggressive in defence and attack. Chi Sau is one of the hardest skills you could ever learn. Excellent video.

Sifu Matt Johnson is a humble and kind person,willing to help,give advice and answer questions of people who show him respect he deserves. He trully is a master of Wing Chun as one should be - humble,respectful and wise. He helped me once with a great advice. Cheerz and respect to all Wing Chun schools.

That's the smoothest chi sao I've ever seen. When GM Ip Ching snapped a punch in 3:05, I was amazed.

I really like the way Ip Ching does Chi Sau, constant changes, controlling and soft. Question though - when he pushes your bong sau why don't you fold over? (i know easier said than done)

If that doesn't make you want to get back on a planed then nothing will! Well! It's a good show all the way around

His fook sau is not hooking over his partners taan/bong sao rather at times preesing on the side of his opponents arm meaning that if you use inside pak he would find it difficult to regain the centre. By using fook sau ontop of his arm he could use jet/jaam sao to block inside pak sao.

A good example for double-arm-Chi-Sao (Dan-Chi-Sao)! Master Ip Ching is focussing only on controlling-techniques (like Pak-Sao and Fooksau) and is not trying to hit at all! Thats the main idea of this type of exercising... Both practicioners avoid doing steps or following techniques in the second tempo. Most wingchung-teachers dont tell their pupils to calm down and feel their contact to the ground - oftenly they enforce the free-fight-alike Lat-Sao-exercises too much (which needs to come later)

have ago with your partner and try pressing gam sao and see how difficult it is to stop inside pak or other techiniques. If your training feeling here by using this pressing technique then fine but more aggressive chi sao would have you in trouble. Thanks for the great chi from Master Ip Ching.

Gum Sao can stop you if you provide a fixed structure. But I think i know what you are talking about - it is difficult to dissolve the structure. In trying to be like 'water' sometimes we turn into 'ice' without realizing. Bravo to the speed...some learning can still happen at this rate.

@VTSDA I hate it when people play with you when doing chi Sau....make you think there is an opening, turns out it's a trap :) BTW have you guys seen that WT guy GRANDMATER Sergio??? so that would make him the same level as Ip Ching???? Hmmm i think not. P.s really like you chi sau...you should post more.

Wow emense pressure going on there, hard to understand it if your a novice just watching but there is so much controll and minimul movents here that are going on, and if this guy made a mistake im sure ip ching would let him know lol.

@Jebus2Jebus Like you said..easier said than done. He uses the Gum Sau to contron the arm. The pressure is such that you cannot bring the elbow over. Have tried it..and he feeds the other hand under the elbow ans usus Gum Sau to turn me and then he strikes to the side of the face..nothing i can do..

Just wondering. Are Ip Ching and Ip Chun on bad terms? Why the different organizations?
@dollyjeanstevens
@dollyjeanstevens 11 лет назад
here is one for you all if you press with gaam sao instead of using a correct fook sao your in big trouble. you can be defeated with inside pak sao or taan da. You end up on the side of their arms instead of ontop where at least you can use jet sao or jaam sao to block. watch carefully and check out more kwok, ip ching chi sao and you will. Respect to all nice.chi sao and happy learning:-):-)
@Cakardic

lol... try explaining that to people.. good luck... its what i always say.. you need forward intent.. driven from the elbow... using elbow and hips allows the body to synchronize and also root in the ground.. no offense to no one,, just my opinion.. cheers..

@cloudxtraining ....well, chi sau would happen
@wingchunDaxx

lol, are you serious? Its all about keeping control man no matter what you opponent does aggressive chi sao or not pressing Gan Sao or not if you can't keep control your just a hitting target ;-) And trust me Ip ching lineage is all about keeping control. Samuel Kwok is my Si gung ive seen what it and who it can defeat if you dont mind me using that word.
@dollyjeanstevens
@dollyjeanstevens 11 лет назад
pressing on the arm for control of circular movements is fine but somebody with forward intent would give you great trouble. Respect to all ,wsl practioner.
@dollyjeanstevens
@dollyjeanstevens 11 лет назад
His riding fook sao is not over the top of his partners taan/bong for long periods of time meaning that by using inside pak sao he would find it very difficult to block it because he is not on top but on the side of his arm. I don't see anything to laugh at here. If you open your eyes you will see!

These Wing chun wannebe's are just pulling your leg mate don't react to them they dont have a clue of what real chi sao is. Most of them i bet havent even trained for 1 year with a good sifu probebly most of them are just youtube learners :D
