"Friends" star Matt LeBlanc answers SHOWTIME's casting call for its new comedy series Episodes.
Matt LeBlanc stars as Matt LeBlanc in Episodes, the hilarious comedy series about remaking a comedy series. When husband and wife writing team Sean (Stephen Mangan) and Beverly (Tamsin Greig) set out to reproduce their British TV hit for an American network, all of their worst fears come true as Hollywood lives up to its reputation for absurdity. Not only does the network cast Matt LeBlanc in the starring role, but Matt takes the lead in deviously twisting their beloved series into a terrible cliché, while testing the couple's marriage with diversions and temptations. Episodes is almost comedy perfection. Sure, a few of the characters are overplayed and series 3 seemed a little rushed, however it is the only comedy from the last ten years that I can't wait for each week. Matt Leblanc steals every scene he is in. If you are looking for half an hour of genius writing and laugh out loud moments then I implore you to watch.

Each to their own, however I have watched Modern Family and it just doesn't do it for me. If you like well written, intelligent comedy then check out 'Detectorists' written by and starring Mackenzie Crook.

My God hes hilarious in this! If i ever ran into him, id be commending his performance in this series and ignore Friends. I loved him in Friends too of course, but it would get SO annoying as an actor to be followed around by that one show when hes done a lot of great work! Love him! If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. It also stars Frances de la Tour, and Iwan Rheon (Ramsey on GoT). It's both funny and heartfelt, and I highly recommend you give it a try!

I liked his expressions a lot, he is really trying to be more than just Joey in everyone's eyes, so this video alone screams the irony of that. How he has to act "more Matt LeBlanc" (as if he was more Joey than himself) and everyone at the audition saying "How you doin?" over and over. 00:44 - 00:47 01:45 - 01:49 And then, the final thing that destroys that bubble. The man saying "If you want Matt LeBlanc, you get Matt LeBlanc" We all miss Joey, but let the man expand his horizons.

So Episodes was originally a BBC network show. Matt came in first in Top Gear in the reasonably priced car. Now it all adds up why he is hired on Top Gear. Its all about references and history.
