@@christoffer5875 i appreciate you then lol. like i understand 20 year olds arent the most mature people out there, but they are still adults by all definitions.
@@MauriceBishopMedia oh so a 90 year old can call a 70 year old a kid? after a while these words mean nothing. a person stops being a "kid" when they hit their 20's. now they are a young adult. yes 20 year olds can be hella immature at times but that doesnt mean they are kids.
You'll feel the same every year, then when you hit 30 you'll think of 25 year olds as kids too. It's crazy how much you keep changing until you get past 30, then you kinda lock in as an adult after that haha
Andrew was NOT processing the point that Akaash was making. You can't compare Tom Brady to Matt Rufe because Tom Bradys' success is indisputable because it's based on objective merits. Whereas comedy is subjective and can not be measured the same way. So nobody can possibel discredit Tom Brady meanwhile its easy to discredit Rife since his talent is subjective.
no, you're the one who's not processing Andrew, which is that Akash is vastly overstating that the controversy around Rife is about his white male handsome identity. He understood what Akash said which is why he developed his thought to consider the gap between fame and quality of work, hence why he took the sport metaphor to David Beckham. Comedic chops are not totally subjective, and no one is calling Rife an all time great. Like Chappelle and Louis ck were once in Rife's position, and you would be laughed at to say Rife is anywhere near their level of craft
This is exactly what I was thinking. He knew he wasn’t responding to the kid, he was responding to the mom who PUT HER CHILD in some random ass drama for views.
@@ayushisharma162 Matt certainly won something...... he made me laugh...... that's his job and the very thing we "consume" from him...... if you wanna look for a "villain", go talk shit about that OnlyFans hoe, who used her kindergarden kid for that whole ridiculous beef
It’s legit like one of the big science things you learn when you learn about planets…. Mars is the closest to earth, Jupiter has rings, Saturn has rings, Neptune is gas so you could legit fly through the entire planet, Pluto use to be a planet but is now considered too small so its a dwarf planet, there’s no oxygen in space, there’s no gravity or resistance in open space so if you’re up there moving in a direction you will go that way at that speed forever unless you get pulled in by a larger bodies gravitational force. Stuff like that….
I don't know how sad this makes me but this is what irks me the most. That kids mom think she owned by making her kid say that EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS WRONG
*Akaash talking about a 27 year old comedian:* he's still a kid! *Akaash talking about a 23 year old basketball player (Ja Morant):* he's a grown ass man!
Also, getting a Netflix special is NOT BLOWING UP, is he in movies, is he a top paid comedian, is he on the cover of all the magazines, is he invited to host the Academy Awards, or is he invited to attend the Met Gala ball, is he invited to speak on every talk show on earth? Nope. He was on that nut job, Gordon Peterson, sounding like a nut job. That is all. He is not some super star at all.
@@lilycollegemythbusters5532 Huh? Why would a stand up comedian care about anything like that? Do you say that about comedy actors, that they haven't blown up until they have a stand up special? A musical artist hasn't blown up until he has a TV show? An accountant isn't successful unless he knows how to do engineering as well?
@@---GOD--- Most stand-up comedians do care about that. Back in the day, it was getting on Carson, then SNL, hosting your late-night show, getting a sitcom, and then films, and yes hosting the Oscars. That is what a blown-up comedian has been about or achieved. But now we have Netflix and TikTok so blowing up is different for mainstream social media. Doing stand-up forever is not the endgame for a comedian. That is freaking hard work!! LOL. Eddie Murphy never went back!
@@iluvthadrama Chappelle is arguably the greatest stand up comedian of all time and that's all he does. He did the TV thing and gave it up. A real stand up comedian always has stand up as #1. Nobody cares about some 3 season sitcom on ABC. They want to fill out arenas.
As a huge comedy fan for decades I think Matt is pretty damn good. He’s a lot better than most new comics I’ve seen. His crowd work and quick witt is definitely top notch. To pull those comments out in the fly is not easy and not everyone can do it. But I doubt anyone claiming he’s the best comic out there right now. Hes just really popular with women.
@@Pip.Squeak. “de·spise /dəˈspīz/ verb feel contempt or a deep repugnance for.” Not that strong of a word bud but is nearly perfect in describing how I feel about him. Much how I despise you as well for taking on the persona of an overrated tv show character and trying to lecture me on my opinions.
I remember being 27 too... definitely felt like full-grown man territory. Definitely felt like if I did shit stupid enough to have other men cuss me out I'd be set straight.
Yeah, I'm 28 and I have a hard time really siding with Aakash on the whole maturity thing. If Matt was 22-24, then I could kind of agree, but 27+ is the point where you should be emotionally mature enough to know when to disengage from these kinds of scenarios.
Also Matt having female fans is not his fault. He didn't ask to have a majority of female fans. Women became fans because he is attractive. He wants to have true fans for his comedy, not for his looks. He loves comedy and it is his passion. He is funny and probably still working on his style of comedy. He is young and people need to cut him some slack. I am a DV survivor and so are my children. With that being said even I can find the humor of his DV joke he recently did on Netflix. People need to remember he is a comedian, it's a fuc***** joke.! He respects women! I am a true ride or die Matt Rife fan, and I am so glad you are defending him.
I totally agree with everything you said! He does respect women, (I know him) but he will roast them too. Why? Because he’s a great comedian! Jokes people, his job is jokes and he’s damn good at it!
@@ozzzyd922 yeah.... the fuck was he trying to achieve with that haircut? I still don't understand to this day.... With the mustache it kinds of resemble that famous German guy 80 years ago too...
Matt’s joke about the rings wasn’t inaccurate, he said Jupiter which does also have a ring. The kid was coached by his mom to say what he said and Matt clapped back hilariously imo…
Yeah, but he didn't know they had rings. He fucked up, and it turns out Jupiter does have some wispy rings that have only been seen by one of the voyager missions. We didn't know about them till 79'. Matt is a douche.
Also, if see the full clip, he said all that to make a mention about a Saturn car, which no one in 2023 even relates to, so the joke was lame on top of lame.@@MegaFlorest
Matt Rife was not talking to the kid in that tweet he was talking to the mother it may have been aimed at the kid but it was meant for the mother to see because she's the one that said that up I believe he's even said this
Exactly this! He wasn’t actually directing the remark at the kid. The only way the kid finds out about the response from Matt is if the mom reads it to him, or even worse, gives him free rein to read IG comments on his own. Matt is a comedian doing what comedians do. The mom just trash looking for internet clout. Also, the kid was wrong about Jupiter and the rings! Matt wasn’t wrong!
@@MFlash05😂😂, that’s the best part about it…. “The rings of Jupiter” is one of the big science thing you learn in school about planets…. And yup, the mother made the kid do a tik tok, she fed him what to say, he clapped back, and the kid didn’t see it unless the mom is a terrible mother (more so then what she originally did) and showed him it…. He’s 6, he shouldn’t have his own phone or tik tok/social media accounts to even see anything, the internet is a cruel place and the mother messed around and found out….. Also, it’s annoying how people do this all the time, he’s a bloody comedian, it doesn’t matter that he’s “rich and famous”, he doesn’t have to be a role model if he doesn’t want to. His response is A okay in my book, in fact he should have been harsher towards the mother on top of what he said to the kid.
Isn’t funny how jealous Akash and Andrew seem ? Like I get Matt is young but to say he’s not ready for the level of fame and how he’s getting attention so quick 😂
It’s not jealousy it’s marketing. It’s called the 7 hour rule. 7 hours is a hypothetical figure. But the idea is someone needs constant interaction for a good amount of time to become a “true fan”
You can’t compare sports and comedy at all. People don’t usually like a stand up comedian to be a handsome dude unless he is mad goofy like norm Macdonald
Andrew is trying to stop akash the reverse racial attack on matt. when you start calling a 27yo Man with 12 years of experience in his craft a kid then there is something wrong
His reactions to ppl online so far have been very kidlike... and his comedy has never improved, average at best. But let's celebrate mediocracy bcoz it's "just trending" BS
Akaash has the most insane take. To suggest that being 27 is just a kid is actually silly. Also the mom doesn't have an only fans - Matt legit is nuking his fanbase of mostly women, and its odd because he named his own special onlyfans so like who is he mad at really
Yeah he's also been doing comedy for like a decade, he's not new to fame like Akaash tries to make out and he certainly didn't blow up overnight like others were suggesting. Dude hates that his fan base is mostly women who are attracted to him, some of his jokes are clearly to try and appeal to male audiences.
I think they refer to him as kid in that he's young in comedy and shot up out of nowhere to where he's not used to this level of Fame so quick. But def not a kid and they are coping for him
I personally never really thought Matt was funny from watching his specials but nevertheless I think the backlash was so much worse because of the audience he sort of snowballed on, a lot of people watching his content ironically were people who would probably be offended by the jokes he made, seemed like his comedy style sort of switched from his open mics vs that Netflix special. Although situation completely blown out of proportion
That’s the whole point, Matt didn’t want that audience anymore, you can be funny with an audience like that, so he made them all jump ship and now real people will fill his audience
@@burtreynolds8030 thing is, he isn’t funny even with the switch. Had to turn off the dudes special in 20 minutes, jokes just weren’t pulled well together
@@burtreynolds8030you have to be good at comedy to get comedy fans on your side. He gave up the only fan base he can get currently. He’d have to get so much better otherwise he will be slipping into that obscurity pussy. Have you try watching his special? Nobody will be filling up the empty spaces long term (short term he’ll get Rogan bros that just want people to dunk on women and lefties).
This is the best take. The audience he built doesn’t like that type of comedy. Insane move to switch on your first Netflix special. Even more insane move to respond to trolls online
I'll give you a thousand dollars if you can tell me the definition of Misogynist without a dictionary right now..... And I mean the real definition not the tic tok Karen version
Does Shulz not know him?? He's been doing standup for more than 10 years, he's not a new comic that went viral. He didn't lose followers, he only gained.
schulz is overthinking it; Akash is spot on. Even if Rife was as good as Dave Chapelle, I dont think he would be perceived the same way. It's not only because of his looks, but also for his feminine voice, which doesn't get talked about at all.
I once saw Bobby Lee at the comedy store and it was one of the worst sets I have ever seen. It makes complete sense why he hasn't released a special yet. I'm no Matt Rife fan by any means, but think he is much funnier than bobby Lee. To each their own I guess. Some may appreciate skillful off-the-cuff crowd work, while others, like @@sabhinandhkumar, might enjoy watching a comedian show their junk, after they just spazzed out from running out of material.
@@sabhinandhkumarBobby Lee isn’t a good comic…. He legit showed his asshole for laughs on his recent tour with the ginger (can’t remember his name right now). Bobby is like Theo, they are 100 times funnier on podcasts than their standup will ever be. Matt isn’t great at comedy, but his crowd work is leagues above Bobby Lee…
@@user-bb4xk6bb7nxxxChappelle's the only one where his first comedy specials still hold up today. They are just as funny. No other comedian has that longevity.
It is hard to be a true Matt Rife fan at one of his shows. It’s filled with women who just came to look at him, but don’t know his comedy. I think it’s become hard for him to try out new material because I don’t think he knows who his real fans/audience are.
Disclaimer: I’ve only seen his crowd work and very few actual bits on RU-vid. I feel like the assessment is spot on. His actual standup bits aren’t bad but aren’t mind blowing which is what you’d expect of any comedian younger than 30 (baring anomalies like Chappelle)
I mean... he's literally not very funny. I can only judge him based on all the clips we see and based on those he's just not funny. Women in the kitchen jokes? That's what we're doing in 2023? Come on. I know some people think saying a comedian isn't funny means you're offended but sometimes a comedian can fail at being offensive and funny at the same time.
How can you cancel something you didn't support anyways? This shit actually made me a fan, would like to know the ratio of leaving vs new fans, not to mention he's been doing stand up literally half his young life
I'm down for comedians to say whatever they want in the pursuit of the most laughs. Offensive, blue comedy, whatever it takes because everyone has different tastes when it comes to comedy. I loved George Carlin but I also liked Gallagher and carrot top. I loved Eddie Murphy and Andrew dice clay. Sam kinnison was hilarious.
Im pretty sure matt started standup like 12 years ago… he has blown up recently but just cuz he’s young doesnt mean he’s not been doing comedy for a while lol… and he’s only been on my radar for a couple years but this isnt even surprising to me none of his fans thought this was anything but hilarious
@@xWingzTV didnt miss the point. Im not disagreeing that he got very famous very fast lol. I just simply made a comment lol i didn’t really put too much thought into it tbh
Matt Rife has not been arguing with a kid. He was arguing with the mom that obviously farmed out her kid and used that kid as a meat shield. Calling her a mom feels wrong at this point. "Psychopath that gave birth" seems like the correct thing to say. Never heard about the autistic part. Not that it would be relevant to the situation at all. I just would have thought that every "offended" person would have been running with that part. I honestly do not at ALL believe that anyone actually thinks he argued with the kid. If some people do, then they are absolute idiots. It is obvious that it is the birth giver that just hates being a good parent. Did her absolute best to prove that she should never have had a child. I also 100% think he is making it better by responding. At least the way he responded. Everyone that actually likes comedy loves it. The only people that have a problem with it are people that would never buy tickets to his show anyway. The PR that he is getting is staggering. He got millions of dollars worth of exposure by writing for 40 seconds. I don't watch his stuff in general. I have seen some of his crowd work. I think he is great at it, but I personally don't find it all that funny. So it is not a fan thing that I am defending his actions. It is just so obviously beneficial for him. His career, in part because of this, has never been brighter.
Anytime someone finds success mainstream, pekoe’s try to tear them down. The moment matt got a Netflix special people started coming down on him hard. His comedy style never changed…why now? Let him have his success. They’re just jokes and he’s actually a nice dude
His response was hilarious. Is he getting cancelled, or are the usual suspects just screeching? But if he's genuinely unravelling then it's right to support him.

I’m sorry I think Andrew totally misread Akashi’s point, which is 100% right by the way. Regardless of how fast he became famous, his formula of who is is, MAKES it very easy to hate Matt.

Ive ben a fan of his for like 10 years. Just cuz some people think hes an overnight success doesn't make it true it all. Boy been grinding since he was like 15
Well, I think part of the point is that most people aren’t like you. Most people discovered Matt Rife in the last couple of years and aren’t true fans yet
Context, they’re addressing Matt as a kid in regard to his career, not actual age. Also, the mother brought her kid into the situation. The kid can’t even create an account.
I think the context was a little too complex for people to understand because it required half a brain cell to read between those lines. This seems to be something people or lacking these days. I got it though!😁
I think Akaash is a little gay for Matt Rife he basically said people hate Matt because he’s such a stud he’s a sexy white male with a panty dropping jaw line
It doesn’t matter that Matt has been doing comedy for 12 years. It’s just the fact that he went from unknown to super viral overnight. This almost never happens in stand up, even if you’re a natural at stand up.
I just checked his world tour, he sold out 3 of 183 shows and did not sell out any shows at Radio City Music Hall, so I don't know what they are talking about.
@@lilycollegemythbusters5532 and the worst part is it's mostly women going and they're doing so because they think he's fit, they're not really there for his comedy and he knows it.

All I know guys is that Matt Rife has the talent in my eyes to sit with you and with Dave Chapelle there as well. You folks are awesome funny. And yes at some point Chapelle or Shultz might even offend me but then again that usually just ends up me getting a better perspective of myself. At the end of the day, my mind isn't as well versed in you folk's talent and I enjoy watching all of you. FYI I'm 62 yrs old. So you folks remind me of younger versions or modern day versions if you will of the greats when I was a kid. Keep up the good work!!!
If Tom Brady went on a podcast next week and made an edgy joke there would be a bunch of people waiting in the shadows to cancel him because he's a good looking cis straight white male and for people on a certain side of the political isle its cool to hate on people for those things.
Am I crazy to say that if a 6 year old (who shouldn't be on TikTok) is talking shit on TikTok, he's fair game??? I thought Matt Rife's response was funny as hell, even if he was talking directly to a kid (on a website he shouldn't be on)!
