Another nice ,simple tie. Thanks.I enjoy fishing tiny flies and when the fish are on them that's all they want usually. Fishing tiny midges and olives is the way to extend your dry fly fishing for sure.

Thanks Tim. I tie this in #20 and #22 but use ONE strand of crystal flash for the trailing shuck. Has seemed to work very very well

Matt actually is from Virginia. He was guiding in Co when he developed this pattern.

Thanks Jeff for the clarification. I don't know how I didn't put it together that they were the same guy. Sorry Matt.

Over the past 15 years that I've been tying flies I learned that most patterns work just as well in other colors or with diffrent color variations. You can't turn a black pattern neon pink, but within reason I'm saying. If you don't have the exact colors the person tying the fly is using, don't get discouraged. More times than not the fish either won't notice or care that it's a little off.

What Kind of Saddle ist used for very small Flies? I buy a Metz microbarb Saddle and a Withing Saddle but the Metz was only 10 size 20 Feathers and the Withing was not smaller than 16.
