fantastic almost immaculate set. Matt is a master of Bleus/jazz fusion!! He always has a really tight band too. Bass and drums laying it down...... keys are a great filler. Love it!!
One of Matt's best shows at the Funky Biscuit! The FOH mix was the best I've heard there in a long time. We were two table back from Matt and the stage.
I hope you get his time for his show that was a couple weeks after this, with all the Lemon City Trio guys. We sat right by you recording. Unfortunately I moved to Citrus County and it is almost 6 hours to make a show down there now. Please keep me sane by pumping out your HQ videos. I love listening to them every single day!

Thanks for that, Miles Hoyt is our son. We are really proud and when Matt invited him to participate, it was after he and Miles jammed at a gig in our hometown - we thought of course there would be others at his birthday bash. We were surprised to see he was the only one besides Christine who had joined Matt on stage. I too think he did very well, and it was the night before Miles was at the Pompano ampitheater, sitting in with G. Love and Special Sauce too - big weekend for him!!
Nice concert and thanks for posting. Interesting that some folks who were at the show saying room mix was excellent because the recorded audio has some noticeable imbalances: snare and hi-hats and other cymbals are too loud and too bright, and, it's hard to comfortably hear bass drum, bass guitar, and keys (esp when accompanying -- level of solos usually ok). I'm no expert and I don't have any particular advice (one room mic vs. multi mics vs. main board? remixing after the fact?), just that some videos have awesome balance and I don't know how much is due to skill and observing reliable techniques vs. luck!
Reserve your judgment after he has more experience. He sounds good and is starting the journey so comparing him to Matt is a false equivalency.. miles really sounds good, I don’t get your criticism. It’s an honor to get to pay with your heroes and obviously he had something Matt recognized.
@@graysenhagin I don’t disagree with anything you say here… for me, it detracted from Matt’s performance. If Matt wants to invite young musicians to the stage…that’s up to him.
