Matt Stafford could be heading back to Detroit in a very likely playoff scenario. The Detroit Lions could be hosting their first playoff game in 30+ years, winning the NFC North for the first time - and could also be welcoming home Matt Stafford in said scenario. The LA Rams are hot right now, led by Matt Stafford, and are currently sitting at the 6th seed in the playoffs standings. The Detroit Lions are sitting at the 3 seed, meaning they'll host the Rams as of today.

Would love to see this match up, now that we're a more built team and seem to be a contender team now. Will always love Matthew Stafford no matter what. It will be a welcome homecoming game for Stafford. It also will prove how good we are too.

I think the last place Stafford wants to play in the post season is in Detroit against the Lions. He knows as well as anyone how important a playoff run means to the Lions fans and he still loves Detroit. I guarantee he's the last guy in the NFL that wants to be responsible for ending the Lions playoff run, especially if it's in round 1

I've accepted that there are no good scenarios for us. Rams have the Stafford/McVay narrative, Hawks have our number, Vikes will have played us twice right before the playoffs, it all stinks.

I'm a Rams fan, I Love J Goff, he's my boy, I f--king love him. I love Stafford, he's a genius, but if we play each other, it has to be somewhere and I think Stafford going home, is perfect. Its like we are orgain donners, I think it would be a celebration of what we've both accomplished? What's your thoughts?

I think normally the Seachickens have our number but I couldn't be less scared of them in a rematch. Not only do I believe we're better but I think they believe it too. When they won in OT I remember reading about how the players were surprised they won and were happy to escape with a win.

..."homecoming" vs. VENGEANCE game IS a FUN take, for sure...so, KUDOS for comin' with that; it ISN'T pad stat-ford we'd be concerned about inna playoff game against the Rams. It's Kupp and THAT rookie, Pakua(sp?), getting open at will that'd BOTHER us.

At this point, I think it's about the best of the best. If the Lions go all the way I don't want any asterisks on how they won or who they didn't play. Just grind it out and go for it.

It would be the ultimate SOL moment if Stafford and the RAM's beat the Lions in the playoff. Good teams don't worry who they play they beat who's in front of them. We will see if the Lions are really a Good team or not.

Stafford hasn’t played in Detroit with the opposing team…he’s coming back to a city, a team, and fan base that’s completely transformed from what he remembers. Think ford field has been loud this season…wait until next Sunday night! Stafford is the enemy until next Monday.

Would love to see Lions play Stafford. Can watch a game and be happy with either team winning. If I was a betting man I would always bet on Lion opponents so I wouldn’t be totally disappointed if Lions lose.

I want no part of Stafford. Way too many fourth quarter comebacks in his career. He knows Ford Field. I don't want a media circus. I don't want to see Kelly in interviews tossing her hair. If the Lions lose this game to Stafford, it will be a nightmare off season. I want the Falcons so we can get that playoff win monkey off our backs. No problem playing the Rams in later rounds, just not the first round.

Lions Vs Rams would be a real chippy/ NASTY game, at least I hope so. The Lions would be more hungry. And with CJ back I know it will be Sh1t talking from beginning to end. The Lions and the fans should take it personal that Stafford left us. Now a couple years later we are fighting for that same chip. (a SUPERBOWL). HE is the enemy now and we should look at it that way. He and his team is standing in our way. Forget how hot there are, they should worry about how HUNGRY we are.

I LOVE this potential scenario. Wanna slay the demons and bury the Bobby Layne Curse once and for all? Getting the Rams and destroying them is a 20th level cleric casting remove curse at 9th lvl. The Bad Boys had to get through Larry Bird/Kevin McHale and the Red Wings had to beat Patrick Roy and the evil Avs. Pick Staff off 4 times, sack him 6 times, frustrate McVay to the 33rd degree. This is opportunity knocking, I say we open the door and embrace the change! And you're right, the NFL would LOVE this too. They'd stack it in the best slot, 100%. Hell they might 'suggest' to the refs that the league would like this 8>D

No one is going to want to play the Rams in the postseason, they’re playing great football. And while it’s OK for us Lions fans to pay attention to everything, the Lions have to have tunnel vision by focusing on what they can control. First things first, clinch the division, and try to win out. But to win out, you have to start by winning on Sunday.

I like this matchup. Stafford is the 🐐 no questions. Win or lose I would end the season happy because I could either cheer for the Lions next round or Stafford to win again… Gives a for sure second round playoff game I would be interested in lol!
