Seeing painful furor by many in experienced youngsters wildly banging away on the instruments, I felt sad for the loss of Quality Thaalam from the vibrant Chendaa! The knowledge in Chendaa is well visible from the hands of these Maestros Family! Complementing each other, the brothers and the father, play the Chendaa in perfect Traditonal Malayaala way. The True Chendaa at its best! The father must be so proud to have his sons continue the tradition so well! A divine Gift to him! And their recital is a Divine Gift to Sangheedha Rasiga!!
This is a treditional drums fusion based on hindhu temples. Initially chenda was used only for kshethra poojas. In kshethras male devoties and kshetha staffs are not allowed to wear the shirtswith in the kshethra boundaries. So this system is following by the people who r playing these kind of instruments. I love my treditions.
