Mattel Disney Princess Dolls New Line and Color Reveal Review

I am actually not mad with Mattel over these dolls. For the price point, they are actually nicely made and the face sculpts alone are so much better than what Hasbro was doing. I would rather see Elsa and Cinderella chilling out together than fighting though. Really wish they would release a doll closer to movie Cinderella in terms of hair styling though. Far as I can tell she is the only princess who got such a revamped design that she barely matches her own movie. Thank you for sharing that the Royal Color Reveal line exists! So excited for this.

I still think that the Disney Store Disney Princess dolls are the best playline Disney Princess dolls. The modern Mattel and Hasbro Disney Princess dolls just don't compare for me. The molded on tops are also a huge deal breaker for me, and I wish that these companies would stop doing that, and the molded on clothing looks so cheap compared to every other fashion doll on the shelves.

The tube actually seems like it could be reusable and it’s actually a nice touch to have that little crown detachable from the cap so the customer can also play princess with the figures

I remember watching this channel years ago, when she would make videos with her daughter. Still seeing that she continues to make videos makes me so happy.

I just started getting used to the Hasbro versions of the Disney princesses, but when I found out that Mattel got the license back I got really excited. Now, seeing the dolls I'm a little less excited only because they seem to be the same style of doll and level of quality that Hasbro was giving us, although I will say that I think the Mattel dolls are much prettier, or I just happen to like them more than the design that has bro gave us. I still feel that they are very basic, even below fashionista quality because of the molded on outfits, although the faces are so pretty I'm hoping that the hair is a good quality because there is always the possibility of a body swap to give them made to move bodies 😋 I will definitely be reviewing these and comparing them on my channel as well, but I will probably also try to customize them a little and see what options I can get away with since they are Mattel.

I am soooooo excited to see the live action Little Mermaid dolls from Mattel, and hopefully some more deluxe dolls of the animated princesses with removable outfits instead of the molded and painted on tops. It would be so cool to see Mattel do themed lines like they used to back in the 90’s, like princesses themed around the seasons

Kind of upset they went straight out with the molded on tops but it's not surprising as it's been Mattel's mo for a while especially on "budget" dolls and for the price I'm less mad, I do think Mulan is the best and prettiest of the bunch in her face and the extras they added to her design I may be getting her and the mermaid Ariel that has the molded tail but can sit and has the pink streak, she's so vastly different from her og design that I wasn't in love at first but I keep looking at her and she's really pretty. I'm very curious about what we're going to see from Mattel when the live action little mermaid comes out and the Barbie movie too to be honest, like are they gonna up their game? Or just slap the respective movie branding on the same basic dolls? Only time will (ma)tell. (sorry I had to 😜)

will you be doing more in-depth reviews of the fashion dolls? the royal reveal is a cute idea especially with the human accessories but it is a little disappointing how easy it is to tell who you got just by the silhouette-but at the same time i don't really know what they could do about that with molded figures 😆

No Tiana? Was she not made with this wave? Besides that, my first thoughts are that I hate that they have molded on tops. Seems like a cheap cop out. They need to give them completely fabric clothing. I do like the faces and face molds. I wish I could’ve seen Tiana, but I looked it up and she is part of this release. She’s always the first one I look for because it sometimes feels like she’s left out and it makes me sad sometimes because she’s my favorite princess. Slightly off topic but have you seen the new Disney ILY 4ever fashion dolls? They’re ADORABLE! Fully articulated, fabric clothing, and a diverse doll line up. I hope it does well and lights a fire under Mattel so they give us better quality on that level with the Princess dolls.

the new dolls look nice I was getting used to the hasbro dolls but I don't mind that mattel is making them back although I kinda wished ever after high would have made a come back instead of them making disney dolls LOL maybe thats just my wishes seeing monster high come back. The color reveal disney princesses seem fun.

I think the faces look better and not so generic like the hasbro, however I am disappointed in the molded on clothes…the dress fabric looks very cheap…as well as the hair. Really was hoping they would of went more into the 90s-early 2000s Barbie like dolls. Color revel was a fun idea but kinda over that whole craze as well.

to answer your question about hasbro and mattel. for me i think mattel did a little better this time. i dont like the sculpted bodices and slip on skirts but the faces, are much better. I remember their earliest belle doll from the 90's they made it with the Steffie doll mold which was very popular in the 70's and can be seen still on some model muse dolls. the first time that mold was use was on the malibu P.j doll in the late 60's or early 70's. and when i found out that it was used for belle i was amazed, but unfortunatley it didn't really look like her. But now they did a better job the details of all the princess's eyes are spot on. Big Snow white fan and after seeing that face they got it right.
