Update: Thanks to everyone who let me know that the hole in the back of the Buzz figures is for the jet pack that comes with the Buzz in the XL-15 vehicle set. Mystery solved! I just haven’t opened that yet, so I wasn’t aware. I’ll be reviewing it soon and I’ll talk about it in more detail then!
I recently got the Buzz Lightyear vs. Zurg Clash Pack at my local Walmart and to be honest, Zurg from Lightyear as a toy figurine looked bigger than I imagined.
This series, was amazing I loved the crystal Grade, figs, love that it came, with all the Ivan tools! Good video, I watched lightyear last Saturday it was amazing! 🚀
Hey thanks so much for watching! So glad you enjoyed my review. And yah totally- I didn’t really have any problem with the mainline version of the fuel cell until I saw these and was so impressed with how better and improved they were!
Spoiler!! Don’t click “read more” if you haven’t watched the movie yet It’d be awesome if they made an old buzz figure and Zurg with an opening chest and a cockpit inside
Ha! That’s been it the “hole” time eh? I knew it wasn’t the jet pack that comes with the deluxe mission equipped Buzz, but hadn’t considered that one since I haven’t opened it yet! I knew it had to be something. Thanks for the heads up!
@@DanthePixarFan That is strange that it's not the same as the deluxe mission equipped Buzz. Why did they make so many different molds for Space Ranger Buzz??
Word on the street is, they're making another spotlight series buzz for Lightyear. He comes with Sox, 3 pairs of hands, 3 heads, his helmet, his jetpack, and his laser blaster. I think his helmet is retractable, and it's the 2nd most detailed Space Ranger Alpha Buzz that we're ever going to get
damn theres a lot of lightyear stuff. I went to go see jurassic world but i'll see about watching this movie if it ever hits Disney+. thanks for sharing!
Hey Dan, you can actually fit the XL-01 helmet onto the XL-01 buzz figure but it requires a lot of force for it to attach properly.. But it definitely does fit on. : )
This is great news! I tried many times without any luck, but tried one last time after reading your comment and you’re right. I got it on! Thanks for letting me know. Regardless though, the crystal grade versions do snap on much easier and seem improved in that area 😊
I own most of these but came to watch your review anyways lol for me the crystal grade alpha suit is my definitive Lightyear figure till we get the (spoiler) outfit, if you know, you know. But I really love the xl-12 buzz, the facial expression is very different from all the others, the hazmat theme is really cool too, I just wish instead of IVAN we got some weapons, because I am not buyin those jokes of ZAP figures to get some guns for these guys lol Do you think we'll see the other suits get made? I am a little disappointed they just reused the xl 12 for the star command playset, I would love to see all 15 suits together
Hey well thanks for dropping by to watch my content even though you have these already- that kind of support means so much to me! And yah- totally hear ya on everything you said and agree. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts!
@@DanthePixarFan I rewatched it recently and di my best to keep track of which ones appear in the movie, we see the 01, 02, 07, and 12 clearly, then there was a few others the popped through that I couldn't make out.
When the figures started to go on sale, i was rather annoyed at the amount of different colored variants, once I saw the movie, i fell in love with the variants. The different time jumps gave us many suits, even though they didnt appear for very long in the film, its to see that mattel decided to sell em.
Thank you so much!! Means a lot that some recognizes how much work these videos are. This one was a week and a half of long, long hours. Appreciate the support, man!
I noticed that the cards in the sets that I bought from Wal-Mart are different from yours. They are all differently shaped, and had cut-outs. If you align them properly, the triangular "holes" all form a picture if stacked properly.
Wow you are 100% right! Cannot believe that slipped past me or else I would have compared them in the video. I just checked and yah they are literally just repaints. Good catch! I’ll hopefully be able to make those comparisons in a future video- maybe for when even more suits come out I can compare them all.
Do you think they’ll make a base for the hyperspeed series? Also, I was looking at my alpha series xl-15 buzz and Alisha pack and the lighter blue cell says 03
I don’t know if anybody noticed that the suits actually don’t match up with the numbers they appear in the film, I also noticed that the xl14 in the film it’s actually the 07 and the suit from the xl12 it’s I Believe from the 09
Hey there! So I did notice things here do differ when looking at the art of all the suits in the art of Lightyear book, but did you notice that they’re actually different in the final film as well?
So tell me something my friend how do you feel about lightyear only making up around 51 million dollars at the box office essentially making it a box office bomb this year as it was surpassed by top gun maverick and jurassic world dominion at the same time man?
Me and my sister were the only ones in the theater. I'm kind of sad that so many people didn't like the movie because I find it is pretty good and definitely worth watching.
Do you know the Red Buzz reminds me of The pilot version back in 1993 with Billy crystals I forgot the name oh it was lunar Larry yeah it reminds me of lunar Larry
Are you going to be reviewing the 5" figure line before all the other Mattel toys? If so, when will you be reviewing the deluxe figures? And are you only doing one Lightyear review plus a few short clips per week, as that's what it looks like atm. No judgement if so, just wanted to know what to expect is all.
Well I just did a poll and it looks like my audience right now just wants Lightyear reviews…so that’s what I’m working on at the moment! Gotta give the people what they want. And yah, at this rate it just makes sense to continue with the 5” line first unless you feel I shouldn’t and should skip around. You can let me know what you think. I just thought it would keep things kinda organized that way. So yes with that said, the deluxe figures are definitely one of my next videos. I hope you’re enjoying regardless! My videos take a very long time, I’m working non stop to get them done. Wish I could pump out even more content weekly these days, but there just isn’t enough time in the day.
Sounds good. I like that idea of doing all those figures/vehicles/other scaled items first and doing things by assortment, I agree it does help keep things organised. That's totally fine, I can understand how that would take up a lot of time. I'm still loving all the videos and always try and watch them several times over whenever I can. If what you're doing now is working for you, then it's what I think you should stick with. If you need to change anything that's cool too. I'll still keep watching your videos regardless. Take care man.
So do we know what the crystal cards are for? The fact that they have a unique punch-out per card makes me think they're decoder cards, and barring another piece of information, I'm gonna make my guess that the schematic side is used with the Starfleet base
So I didn’t think they were for anything really at first, but I got the playset recently and it looks like they could be used with that from what the image looks like on the back of the box. You could be right! I’m gonna be opening that playset and reviewing it soon, so I’ll know in a few days and share it here asap
@@mightymadmax6703 I’m excited to find out for sure!! Seems you’re onto something 👏🏻 I was excited when I saw them on the packaging since I was hoping they would have a purpose too
@@DanthePixarFan Just got and opened up my Base, and can confirm, there's an actual window for the cards in the lower left side. I'm going to try laminating mine(as we get very similar ones in Wave 2 Crystal Grade) so to protect them, but I will say, a little disappointed that the crystal storage(second tier, right) is only 2 slots, third is a very cheap looking facade and the silver paint got kinda slapped on for mine. I do like all the storage besides that though, plus the instructions show an interesting possibility, an XL-07 that's capable of going on the launch pad! Not sure I'll get an Armadillo for this set, but that's also supposed to be able to use it. Looking forwards to your review still!
Went ahead with laminating the cards I have, really like how they turned out, just used the regular 3mil sheets from 3M. However, if you do it, make sure you space them out a fair bit so the 'halo' doesn't intersect, and I used a glue stick to affix the back/shuttle side of the card so that it wouldn't shift while passing through the machine. Fit just fine in the base's window, forward or reversed, felt very smooth. Might try the ones from the new wave if I get hold of them without lamination, but I think this works.
