I am actually italian and living abroad, and I came to like Starbucks. The important part is you don't have to consider it coffee, but just a place where to get beverages, and some of them are coffee flavoured Btw the italian starbucks have the exclusive coffees with olive oil, one of them is actually ok-ish and one is terribly awful

Starbucks in Rome is 100%for the American tourists. It’s for the American tourists who were bold enough to travel, but too afraid to try new foods. As an American I know there is a level of comfort/familiarity that many people need even when they travel.

Loved this video! PS James Hoffman did a great review of the oleato coffees (coffees with olive oil) at Starbucks in Italy (he went to one in Milan) but has apparently since removed it as he doesn't want to support Starbucks when it's not supporting its workers (illegal union-busting and beyond). All revenue from that video has been donated to Starbucks Workers United.

This was awesome! I was in Rome last October and just after we landed we went for coffee. One of my travel companions tried to order a mocha. She got a cup of hot chocolate with a shot of espresso. I laughed almost as hard at that as I laughed during this video.

Okay guys, I looked it up because this also confused me. A Starbucks mocha apparently consists of: chocolate sauce in the bottom of the cup, an espresso on top of that, foamed milk on top of that until the cup is almost full, then fill the rest up with whip cream and sprinkles.

I worked at Starbucks. It is coffee. But. There's a TON of sugar in everything. That caramel sauce. The Frappachino liquid that fluffs it up and the syrup that goes in it to sweeten it. That's the caramel one. The Mocha Frappachino is coffee and cocoa mix mixed together and more of that Frappachino liquid to fluff it. Don't forget the whipped cream. It's flavored and sweetened too. Oh and that espresso and oat milk he's drinking, the oat milk has a ton of sugar too.
