The song was written by Stevie Wonder (who never recorded it), performed by his ex-wife Syreeta Wright. Jeff Beck did a fabulous cover of it, and Matteo Mancuso with his trio gives a sublime rendition: no need to add more
He is a great musician but he butchered this melody by making it a slow jazz intro. In short it sucked. I couldn't listen to it. It was not an intro to elevator music. Listen to the recording of the man who wrote it.
It is easy to find Jeff Beck's recording. Sometimes technically superb musicians think that they are better than the composer. Hey Matteo, compose your own original stuff. People are ruining original compositions such as Crowded House's "Don't Dream its over ". Advice, no one should ever sing that song other than Neil Finn who composed it. The old rock and roll songs are accepable fare. Only Jimmie Hendrix will ever play "Villanueva Junction" as it was played at the close of Woodstock in 1969. Don't try. You can't. Only Bob Dylan and Jimmie can/could play "All along the Watchtower. I rest my case.
