Operating since 1959, it's Walt Disney's oldest roller coaster! Designed by Arrow Dynamics, it's also the first known tubular steel continuous-track coaster. Consisting of two separate tracks that run roughly parallel to each other, intertwining and eventually deviating from each other at the loading areas, this video shows the Tomorrowland side of the ride, which is approximately between 15-20 seconds faster than the Tomorrowland track.

Ah, the first Disney coaster! The beginning of Disney's relationship with Arrow Dynamics. The Matterhorn proved to Disney that they could have "thrill" rides in their parks. Without Matterhorn's success we wouldn't have Space Mountain, Test Track, Mission: Earth, Tower of Terror, Expedition Everest, etc.

I am dying at the people screaming OMG OMG, the left track HITS DIFFERENT y’all. I’ve done the Matterhorn plenty of times but finally got the left track and I wasn’t ready! Very convinced the yeti was gonna get me haha.

Awesome!!!!!!!!!! This Matterhorn mountain at Disneyland is the most favorite bobsled ride I have ever loved, and I used to call it big rock when I was a little boy and very young before.

I rode this for the first time back in the mid 70's when I was about 8 and this brings back fond memories. If you think those ladies were loud you should have heard my Nana screaming in my ear at every corner.The overly stabilized camera is distracting but overall I really enjoyed this.

Okay can we pleeeeease stop with the stabilization now? Y’all were the one channel that wasn’t doing it for a while that didn’t have a certain someone also attached to their brand, but now it’s just distracting and disappointing

If you remove stabilization on a ride like Matterhorn, it would be virtually unwatchable. We prefer smoothness over a jarring video. -Scott

It depends on how much coasters scare you. This ride used to scare me when I was scared of coasters. But after overcoming my fear of coasters, I love this ride now.

It’s not really scary, it’s just really rough. I can see why she was screaming, because me my sister and my dad were laughing so hard during ride because of how rough it was

Why is this weird unnatural stabilization the norm for povs, it’s so uncanny just mount the camera so we can actually see what the ride does accurately Also if y’all think this person is loud i can’t imagine how you’d react to a real loud person on a coaster

Unfortunately, we are not allowed to mount to Disney roller coasters, otherwise we would. If you deactivate stabilization, the video would be unwatchable. -Scott

@@coasterforce we’ve been watching destabilized videos for years, i’m pretty sure they’re fairly watchable, or if anything get a weighted camera like they have on movies, if you can manage to keep it on you

@@mynameiskrysta a lot of this depends on what’s allowed and not allowed on rides. I film a lot of the dark rides, Space Mountain included, with a larger camera that allows for low light. Matterhorn is a tad too aggressive for this, unfortunately. The next time I film, I’ll try to film without stabilization as well. -Scott
