Living under humanity's earned curse of Genesis 3:17-19, we must strive with difficulty to acquire the food necessary to sustain our lives in this world, a challenge compounded today by world governments that put our food increasingly out of reach. Yet, as offensive as your ongoing rebellion and sin is before God, He will supply your need. Not because we deserve it, or have earned it, but as Jesus fed thousands out of His compassion for their need, so Jesus will, out of His compassion for you, supply your need. As the Psalmist says: "The eyes of all look expectantly to You, And You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand, And satisfy the desire of every living thing" (Psalm 145:15-16). Look to Jesus, call to Jesus, to supply your need from His hand, and in due season (as He determines), He will as so many of us have experienced from Him.
