Very great bible study. I have just started reading the Book of Matthew and have been listening to each Chapter's study and analysis from you and it has been very helpful. I have a question though, how does one differentiate between a fall (sin/weakness) from a fruit. By this I mean, Paul once said in Roman's 7: 15 "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do, I do not do, but what I hate I do" so what are the distinct feature of a Christian who has sinned and one who has bad fruit. Is it a matter of time or is it a matter of repentance? From South Africa 🇿🇦

What a GREAT message on this chapter! I’ve often wondered about the verse that refers to casting your pearls before swine. I wondered if he refers also to the pearls of wisdom we gain, and not to give them freely to those who have rejected or not obeyed the Gospel (I think of the swine as symbolic of “unclean” so anyone not washed by Blood of Christ and the pearls as the pearls of wisdom gained by those who have been made clean). I’ve wondered if in those cases We ought to offer to these individuals first & only, in love, the Gospel, and withhold other principles of wisdom. But I’m still not sure about that point of view though.

For the most part I have enjoyed your teachings on Matthew. I am an ordained elder in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. To let you know Ellen G. White never personally claimed to be a prophet. My one challenge with what you said is are you also aware that Jesus was also called the Lord of the Sabbath? Is there a chance that claiming there is not a Sabbath or that the Sabbath was changed that we are denying Jesus and objecting to Jesus? Have we become ashamed of Jesus when we say we don't believe? A friendly challenge that I have made for the last 35 years and no one has collected although many have tried I wondered who had the authority to change the Sabbath or the day of worship? So far as I have studied for the past 3 + decades no one has. What does it mean to deny God's Word? Maybe say that Jesus changed His mind countering what is in Hebrews 13: 8,"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." and of course Matthew 15: 17,"Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill." I hope I have not offended you but challenge you to investigate the truth of the Sabbath. I shall continue to enjoy your teachings for the most part.

Why the one-eye symbolism?

My question to you is have you denied Jesus as the Lord of the Sabbath? Or are you saying that He is not really the Lord of the Sabbath? I'm sorry but I'm kind of confused by your intensity? Help!!!! I still enjoy you teachings. I have benefitted & learned from your teachings. Hope this may create an interesting study.

There is nothing wrong with the ‘old’ church methods of teaching God’s word as long as it is true. Not everyone likes the ‘new’ method. Please respect your elders.
