I love that scene. Simon Peter and Matthew are my favorite disciples. I cried happy tears when Simon Peter hugged Matthew and says “It is all forgotten”.
I love Matthew. He reminds me a lot of myself. Not the spectrum aspect but just how he's gotten so much stronger and putting up with less bull from everyone.
Very effective, and powerful message. just reading, just listening doesnt give you the full experience. Life has thrown us far from reality. To live in this moment was so fulfilling!
Other notable moments: Him refusing the grapes from the kids, then taking some on his own while watching Jesus His initial interaction with Thomas His confused look when Thomas accused him of liking Reyma His many interactions with Philip His time with Jesus when He's preparing for the Sermon on the Mount Him hearing about Guis and getting happy and saying how good of a man he is How he describes Mary when they're looking for her Him helping her while she's vomiting and Peter surprised he's not grossed out Him happy outside the tent when Mary is forgiven Him learning different skills like shaving wood and making flour and saying how he likes learning them Him thinking he had to fill out a written request to talk to Peter Him being sweet with Mary when they're old in the future

4:30 I had almost forgotten the time period for a moment when i saw this scene before because i felt bad they didn't ask him to bunk with them just in a separate room or something 😔 not even the back yard in his tent or anything 😢
I found an other one Season 2, Ep 7, when the disciples are explaining why they are building a “Tent/Tabernacle”, during the Feast of Tabernacle. Matthew’s line, has to do with the fact that the Jews are “still living in the dessert”.
