He's really overextending the capability of the guitar here, and that's why it's played on piano.

@@ArtsAscendent piano is just a loud percussion instrument. hah! depends on the piano, but thanks for the laugh. Also, if the guitar can shape and sustain at a more desireable level as it pertains to this piece, don't you think Beethoven would've composed it for guitar? I have to agree with John above - if the melody of this arrangement is dependent on harmonics, then it is indeed approaching the limits of the instrument to embody this composition. Personally, I really enjoyed the arrangment for what it is. But it still strikes me as a lesser imitation of the genius of one of Beethovens greatest accomplishments for piano.

From my own experiences, I know this piano composition is hard enough to be performed perfectly on the piano. Would have said not possible to be performed on the guitar. This video shows otherwise. Musical hard labor. Bravo.

Actually, on the piano it is quite an easy piece. The difficulty comes from the interpretation and expression, which was done perfectly

One important thing about guitar vs. piano is that on piano, the notes r already made. U just move ur fingers there n hit them. But on the guitar, u must stretch in two dimensional plane vs. piano's one dimensional line. Yes, Chromatic black keys on the piano makes it like two linear layout but basically, it's linear vs. 2D plane. The guitarist's hand n fingers will look like that of a Spider, not Centipedes, more complex. And, the piano's notes r already made. Just tap any note, no need to figure out which of the 6 strings, at which point (or fret) to push down along this single string. But dat's nut nuf. U must figure out to push other 2 to 5 more string positions simultaneously to make a chord for the melody accompanied by the base chord. And, the other hand fingers (the right hand) must pluck the correct strings of 6. For the piano, this note sound making w 2D vs. 1D layout is not necessary. No Spider fingers-hand contortion needed. All other string instruments, like Cello, Viola, Violin, Zither, Mandolin, Balalaika, Base, etc must make the notes. Harp on the other hand is like the Piani, the notes r already made n the strings r visible. The Harpo's is also as a piano, 1-Dimentional layout. Hmm, Harpo can make it look more compli- cated by moving both of his two hands up and down the string column. Though he portrays himself as a crazy no brain cooKoo, he's a fantastic Harpist where Jack n the Bean Stock Giant or Green Giant of the Valley would cry when Hyper Tornado Harpo Mark Brother plays it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EyPUgMpvTy8.html Yet, the advantage of the piano is it has many many notes and the volume is much larger esp. w the lid opened, acting as a bull horn. and piano has several pedals to dampen or lengthen the tone vs. the guitarist must control that w only his/her hands. For a Modern Electric guitar, some, not all of the guitar's short comings r overcome, esp. that of the volume w an electronic amplifier n simulator, as abused or NUT. Still, i do love both instrument playing. Now, the most difficult piece, a Rondo written for a piani by Herr WAM (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart) is played w 4 hands to add more richness to the tiny string instru- ment by a dual Polish Guitarists below, Turkish Aire, aka Rondo Alla Turka that i hope u'll enjoy: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5WD3DncRK3c.html&start_radio=1 Now, watch this Guitarist fingers playing the famous orchestral piece by Johannes Brahms, The Hungarian Dance: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AyMBMvv0uk8.html
