What a day. I lost my Grandfather that year who gave a lot of passion for the game. He himself played league in Newcastle in the 1930's winning the comp in '32. The day of the GF, I was supposed to start work at 2pm. I was 4 hours late because of watching that game. My neighbour came to see if I was ok because of all the noise I was making. Never forget that moment.

Mate im heading down the Newie for the 30th in 3 years time ! I cannot believe its already 27 year since it happened. I remembered that day, that moment. when we scored that last try watching it live on TV in Newcastle and the parade after wards was memorable !

I was on Singleton Military Range on that day. Training stopped. Everyone went apeshit. What a time to be alive and a Novocastrian.

I loved super league that year but this grandfinal was something else. The ARL needed newcastle to win it, the icing on the top was the way the won it. 👍

I remember this day well I was out fighting a God dam bushfire as we would on so many grand final days you couldn't put enough money on it some way some how there would be a bushfire and not a small one either so for that whole grand final we fought a monster . Would I change it nope not at all
