Just to be clear I wasn’t hiding from Tymon before the match. I was just saving myself from the absolute yap session and negativity before the match. I wanted to focus before the match. That’s all lol

How do you know he will get beaten? I mean Yiheng is without a doubt the fastest cuber alive rn, but Matty beating him isn't out of the question. He is able to throw down times nearly as fast (ex: his official sub 5 ao5 fail, his ytuwr ao5)

@@Stricks823 Matty is a very nervous cuber as well. If he didn't have nerves in that last solve of ML S4, he might've had a chance to become the S4 champion. We also don't get to see much of Matty because he doesn't get many comps in Hawaii, but when we do see him, he is a beast. He got a YTUWR ao5, and he failed the first official sub 5 average in comp. So over the years he probably has more experience than Yiheng handling nerves which is why I think it'll be close. Yiheng is still the favorite to win, but people are acting like Matty has no chance which isn't the case.

Tymon tied both of Mats Valk’s former WR singles back to back lmao 4.74 at 1:20 5.55 at 2:02 Still incredible times in 2023, crazy how Mats got these back in 2016 & 2013, even crazier that Tymon is just casually getting these times.

@jamescarter9944 well yeah, and losing a point is bad lol. In this context, it's bad for them to get that time. Obviously 5.66 is an extraordinarily fast solve for most people, but it's not good enough to win anymore, when back in the day it was the fastest time in the world.

@@justadude7212 solves after each other they were both visibly dissapointed when getting a 5.10-ish on their solve. the amount of 4's they put out is insane. The only thing that get them above a 6 right now is locking up, their solutions are so effective and fluent, if their turning goes neearly perfect they get insane times

somehow people do not solve at their best level vs Tymon a lot of the time. You could put it down to nerves because you know you have to solve your best level to have a chance at beating him. But vs Yiheng Matty had the same and he was putting out insane fluent solves

I don't know about that, I prefer moyu for the value but gan cubes are nice. I don't think it would change their times much, when you're turning at 10 TPS and you're nervous you're gonna lock up no matter what cube you use

@@chimchu3232 Maybe the times wouldn’t be that much of a difference, but in sub 5 averages even 0.1 is a lot. I’ve watched Luke’s previous episodes and still think that he doesn’t have the “typical internal gan lockup”

@filipesantos2230 you may be correct, like I said I prefer moyu over gan, but these guys are world class proffessional cubers, and they choose gan over moyu. It's not like they've never used a moyu cube before. Moyu also used to have a bad reputation, I remember they used felik's image without his consent or knowledge, so he refuses to use moyu cubes to this day.

Tymon and Leo have both used other cubes before, so I wonder if maybe they just liked the feeling of the Gan cubes and switched to them and then got sponsored, rather than them getting sponsored and then having to use them. I don't think they'd lock themselves in a sponsorship if they weren't happy with the cubes they were using, or at least I hope so!

Yeah. Matty without nerves would be goated. Imagine last season if Matty didn't have nerves on the last solve, he might have been able to clutch. I think Tymon has somehow found a way to channel his nervous energy so that he does better. Like in his 4.86 wr last solve, or in previous monkey league seasons.

At this level isn't what Tymon did on the first solve cheating I mean he can use the adversary inspection time to pre inspect the scramble and he can copy solving paths that he might not have thought/seen during his inspection

Phillip has said multiple times that he allows this. Competitors alternate who starts solving which makes it so the possible advantage you get from this is equalized as much as possible across the match

One player getting easier scramble than the other and competing is just wrong, unfair and not logical. They can only be competing and assessed if they get same exact scramble, otherwise what is the point of the timer if scramble is different for both? Literally, the scramble that max park and yiheng wang should be given to other players and see if truly none of them get 3.13 seconds only then we can say max park or yiheng wang for example is the world record holder etc.
