It's interesting how all of his healing/overhealing is specifically based on damage, meaning it increases with higher damage dealt. This makes damage boosting Mauga a very viable thing to focus since he can use his Cardiac and his passive to stay in the fight more effectively. Plus, without an armour threshold, his HP being about half doesn't matter as much. Depending on the Mauga player in question, a Mercy can probably spend more time damage boosting him relative to other tanks, trusting him to look after himself.

I really like this hero. He’s surprisingly balanced for how much damage he does. He’s amazing at focus fire but very weak to getting swarmed. The glass cannon of the tank roster if you will.

But how!?!? Isnt fortify anti-ignnition? If it cant be ignited, how can it be headshoted? Also, I saw people do some ramming on the minigun without firing any bullets, is that mere idle animation? My pc is out of order unfortunately, else I will post my test result here.

little thing with the lifeweaver pull if its friendly when maui is in cage, pulling out him out removes the unlimited ammo buff BUT if he enters it again he will get it back

Something interesting is that when deployables like Torb’s turret and Lifeweaver’s Tree are on fire, Mauga can actually crit damage them with is alternate fire (Cha-Cha) despite them having not critical spot. Same with Orisa in fortify.

One very interesting interaction is where to mauga face off anf ult, if the shields intersect like a venn diagram, the maugas can move between the ults, they are not restricted by both chains, only one of them.

Yeah, the overrun needs some work. It just brakes so many mechanics against other tanks. You can use it way too often, and the fact that you continue to run after Rein charge, or Sigma rock, and that he is able to knock you down at the end jump is so overpowering...

It isn't as OP as some people think. There's zero damage mitigation, and the slam is the only real damage output it has. Use it to go into a fight like rein pin and due to Mauga's low defensive capability he explodes. It's mainly to dodge CC like from ults, get away from a fight, or to go into a group of enemies during a fight you know you already won. The only time him just running in and living is if the enemy team is bad. And remember, sombra is a hard counter to Mauga, hack/EMP cancels his charge and ult

Basically Mauga and Ashe are going to be the combo for a while lol with Ashe dynamite. If Ashe hits a big dynamite, Mauga gets permanent crit damage and Ashe can get healed from Cardiac Overdrive over time (like her own soldier 76 healing pad) which is kind of stupid… don’t get me started with unkillable Bob with Cardiac Overdrive + Ashe dynamite + Mauga humping enemies with his charge it’s so annoying

God forbid a tank and DPS can have synergy. Mauga isn't a poke tank so this playstyle just helps his poke a bit. If the enemies are close, you're firing with both weapons anyways so you'll be critting regardless; it just means brawl Ashe is more viable

Worth noting in the dropping it from a ledge, Sym tele and LW pull examples, Mauga doesn't get the unlimited ammo like usual because he isn't inside it himself

One thing I’d like to note; mauga’s secondary *can* headshot, but if the target is burning you won’t get any extra damage for it since the crit damage from the burning procs on body shots too

His ult seems super buggy. They appear to have implemented it as a form of "Mercy Heal Link" effect projected from the item that Mauga drops. That means you need line of sight to be "linked" but that link never expires until the item itself expires. The barrier itself is just for show and works like any other barrier. It's the item in the middle which restricts movement and movement abilities.

for Overrun it's a bit buggy. Watched Cyx's recent video and he got hooked out of it. I also played a game earlier and got sigma rocked out of it. It's supposed to have immunity to CC but doesn't always work.

seems like overhealth gain is 40% of a crit damage so 3.6 for a 9 damage crit, and 4.5 for a 11.25 mercy damage boost or zen discord would be 5.4 for a 13.5 damage while nano boosted would be just doubled through window so all combined it would be 12.375 per 30.9375 crit oh also the passive does work with his jump at end of the charge giving 32 overhealth since the crit jump does 80 damage

Do you know how stats work for his healing? Like if I am a Cassidy who can’t normally heal and I heal with Mauga’s ability, who does the healing stat go to? Cass or Mauga?

That’s a great question. I would think it’s either all healing is awarded to Mauga but Mauga’s healing might just record how much he heals himself. I’m certain that the character that “healed themselves” with Mauga’s ability wouldn’t be awarded with the healing on the scoreboard because heroes don’t get healing awarded to them when Baptiste throws Immorality Field and technically heals them by walking into its range if they’re below 25% health.

The fact that Cage Fight disables all movement options is incredibly evil, it literally murders Doomfist, Wrecking Ball, and Tracer. That's my only complaint with the hero, though, otherwise he seems fun.

It stop by the shield of his ult so If he is outside he wont enter and start to shoot to the shield, so the best way is to throw him inside so he is trap too if enemy team is inside as well. That's my guess tho

Eh, I'm okay with EMP dealing with Cage Fight. At this point EMP is like Suzu in that, while they are annoying-- there are so many abilities that you need to hold them for if that's your goal with the EMP itself, since outside of that it's not nearly as strong as it used to be. Heck I was able to easily 1 v 1 Mauga on Echo in most cases. Main thing is the same problem with the other tanks: he's most likely going to feel weak in team fights simply due to the shut-down potential of so many abilities in game, and funnily enough his Charge being unstoppable is like that of Fortify on Orisa in that it's one of the few things that make you feel strong as a tank. So until they find a balance to make playing the role feel worthwhile, I feel like he's going to get outpaced by tanks like Sigma, Ram, and Orisa in most scenarios. Heck if there isn't an enemy Ana to nade/sleep you, Roadhog feels stronger than the other tanks... and I say that as someone who is a pretty good bully when I'm on Ana.

Has anyone else noticed that sometimes when you use his ult and kill people the game acts like you killed 1-2 extra people? I have a 6 multikill stat for Mauga even though that shouldn't be possible. I have also killed 2 before and the game say "quadruple kill." So I think it's possible to even get a 7 multikill stat for him. Has anyone figured out WHY this happens? I want to recreate it. I NEED to get 7 multikill stat with him before they fix that bug.

nope burn just applies crit to the entire body, essentially it just "increases" the head hitbox for mauga xD

i have a lil question about how you have some skins on your thumbnail way WAY before the skins were ever teased or revealed... the most recent one is the zombie doctor mercy - you have a 10 month old! video with this skin on its thumbnail? same with lifeguard where it was featured on a year old video. both of these look 1 to 1 exactly the same in game as they did on the thumbnails

@@JoJo-ke5yzbad percentage, she cant even cancel the most important ults such as nano, visor, pulse, tree, kitsune, sound barrier, rally, (until very recently she wasn't even able to cancel orisa's ult) DVa bomb etc..in fact the ones that she can cancel are the shitty ones that get already canceled by just having a kiriko like captive sun, high noon, coalescence, flux and shatter I think...and genjis blade.

again someone who didn't test the mei wall LoS mauga ult. if you can LoS the chain on the other side of a wall and safe... can you mei wall and mauga placing his ult on the other side of the wall keep you and your team safe. no one tests this and idk why, i think it'd be useful to know cuz then you could just hear ult and try to block it off asap.

Rein can pin and insta kill 1 person. Mauga can knock up a bunch of people, but doesn't do that much damage. It's inaccurate to call his a more powerful Rein charge.
