Just bought these because of the coverage. Absolutely amazing lenses. I have been wearing the Holbrook, which are great and lighter than these, but the coverage and clarity is no competition against the Maui jim. I got the blue ones.
The fact that they now paint the logo on at least some models really turns me off to Maui Jim. It was such an easy way to help a guy identify authentic pairs. Not full proof but the lack of etching also makes them seem more cheap and gas station to me. Takes away some of the special. They are no longer really Maui Jim's, now they are just sunglasses.
I believe the Lava lens is a brown base with a red mirrored coating over it, so the overall look is pretty similar to their HCL Bronze lens. I have the Cruzem’s and the the color is a pretty soothing brown tone, but because they wrap a little bit, the lens looks a bit green towards the sides of the lens, like on the peripherals. Not really noticeable when I’m outside but I’ve seen that some models like the Keokea have this almost green gradient color when looking through them that I personally don’t like, I’m sure they perform well and look great outside but it’s not my idea color to look through (I work at a Sunglass Hut so I’m always excited when when we get new Maui Jim’s in stock!)
@@attilab.2818 if its Maui Jim, the Maui Sunrise is one of the greatest lenses I’ve ever thrown on my face, the lenses are vibrant and look great aesthetically, their grey bi-gradient is dope too because its like Oakley Prizm but significantly better and can come in glass. I prefer lenses that don’t have a grey base though, as they usually offer more color contrast and can be used for various light conditions
@bradleemartin6540 still don't know how a Chad-type bloke looks like but I have a feeling this name isn't a compliment for this style. At least it helped to make a decision to not buy it.
