The thing that this interview reminded me of is that you never know what someone else is going through or has struggled with in the past. So you should always be kind to others and not judge them. Great interview!

I’m 45 years old... have always worried what other people think of me... I try to stop... and then something happens and I go right back to my old ways. It’s a constant struggle.

It’s very hurtful when you extended your hand or smile at someone and they reject you so I relate a lot to that feeling. This was a very informative interview. Right now my mental state is under high stress watching my Pomeranian Wolfgang dying before my eyes. Thx for another helpful state of mind....

Excellent show learning about Cam's background and his disability when he was a young boy was enlightening. How well he handle it and his outlook on life. Look forward to seeing him on GH.

Great interview. Great lesson. Ego is not a symbol of strength or accomplishment. It is a sign of weakness and brokenness. Living and making decisions just to be "seen" by others is quite frankly a life wasted. It's about doing some soul searching.

Cameron is one of my favs and even more so now. Great interview Maurice. I have so much more respect for both of you to share such personal details of your lives. You are both so very humble and that is admirable and so appreciated in today’s society of over inflated egos. Thank you and keep doing what you do best.

Hi Gentlemen, I have been a fan of both of yours for many many years! And can I say that watching this interview you both blew it off the charts! Your openness and willingness to be raw and honest with us all is admirable. I pray your words reach someone tonight. We can ALL take away the knowledge of working on our insides first. Cameron that you talked here as you have on Home & Family how important it is to daily work on our relationships! My husband and I have been married 36 years. We stay best friends and communicate the best we can. I am now disabled and went thru a hard time feeling like a burden. So, I know how we can't let those thoughts win in our mind!!! I can't tell you Maurice, how thankful I am that you have used your platform to bring us all on this journey of "State of Mind". I pray God continues to use you both to reach others that may feel they are the only ones going thru something, or maybe by hearing your openness they will realize some of themselves in your story. This has touched me. I have dealt with low self-esteem my whole life. I was in sale's that fed my ego. Not so healthy . It is very endearing to hear your fears and insecurities. That was an AWESOME interview! I had a kidney removed when I was 11 years old, and my dad had robotic surgery for bladder cancer; so I could relate to everything Cameron was talking about there. Best of luck to him.

I love this! I'm raising a teenage son who has anxiety and depression, and is on the spectrum. There are days that are just a struggle and I know he will be okay. Thank you for this!

Loved hearing from Cameron on what he gone through in his life and loved seeing him on all my children and can’t wait to see him on GH

The part about caring what other people think about you hit home for me. At 63 I am still dealing with that to a certain extent. Not nearly as much as I did when I was younger for sure. It's such an interesting phenomenon, this gnawing need for other people's approval. I think it goes back to when we are children and wanting so badly to have that from our parents/caregivers.

What a surprise to hear CM talk about his hip dysplasia and being in an A frame device. My eldest son was born with this also and we discovered it when he was a year old. We had him in a pillow device for two years. I didn’t know until I was 32yo that I was his genetic carrier. I was born also with this, but never knew it until he was 13yo. I had to have my hip replaced when I was 49. I can just imagine CM childhood trauma. Great interview. And Maurice, I also feel no “joy” in my life.

Wow! A very personal and open conversation (like all your interviews, but this one...) Totally brought a different side to my thoughts of Cameron.

Great show it was so nice hearing you both express your feelings. I understand the feeling of caring what other people think but now a days I don’t care because I’m me. When you speak about depression it’s usually hard for me to fully understand only because I’m mostly in a manic state and it’s hard. But the past few months I have been depressed to the point that I just want to quit I’m tired of feeling this way. ❤️

I’ve literally watched GH since it started on top of my grandparents kitchen table. My late husband was bipolar but refused to get help; once in a while the regular dr would give him Xanax. To make a long story short, his risk-taking shortened his life a lot. He’s missing out. Nice to see not all men refuse the wisdom for their very own families to control the ups and downs

Wow! Cameron, so much respect for you and your honesty plus knowledge that can help us all when you spoke about toxicity. I was glue praying you you going into that more. How do we ask to get tested, what do you eat, which household cleaners, which air purifiers? Please elaborate because I have a husband of 33 yrs and he is all I have left in the world. He had his left diseased lung out and his right lung is diseased. He takes a very expensive anti fungal drug three times a day along with a few different inhalers. Aspergillosis fungus balls, along with severe emphysema and cold and he has a large tumor on his kidney of which his infectious disease doctor is not worried about but I wanted a biopsy and him and my husband are refusing. One thing I think behind all this is my husband can never be put to sleep ever again for surgery. I was told three years ago to get ready to be a widow. I know but I also know God has the say so. I asked my husband to act and think as if nothing if wrong with him. To think positive and do not feel sorry for yourself. He is very skinny. Suffered many times from anorexia. He needs to care about eating but so many specialists try to help him and my husband works so hard, has high metabolism so not even close to enough food at 6ft tall 133 lbs. Sometimes he looks so scary frail at 126 lbs. I am joyful and so is he but you know in my quiet mind many times a day I listen to his every cough, breathing during sleeping has changed worse and he dry heaves upon exertion or just coughing fits with tears running down his face because it s hard to get his breath or something. They told me if he swallows wrong and aspirates, call the ambulance because there is no time for me to get him to Duke hospital and he could die quickly. I really need for both of us and I am sure millions of us out here to please respond to educate us on this in depth. Please. Blessings Darlene in NC

This story hits home for many reasons, my husband had struggled for years with addiction and I had always told him about being bipolar just because I read so much about it , we’ve been through the mill for a better part of our 40 years together, I’ve stayed because my love for him was definitely stronger than his issues , and I always felt that if I left he most likely he would have not made it or died . I love this story and all of them which are so relatable to what we’ve endured. Thank you Maurice ❤️( Sonny) and thank you Tyler for sharing this story which I’m sure isn’t easy . You are an inspiration .What a great one this was , emotional for me too because I’ve been on this ride with mental illness because of my husband and now my daughter too has issues which are being addressed. GH is and always was my escape. Much love 💕

Wow. Today was awesome. When I start feeling emotional inside(which I don't like to) I know that you're touching something close inside me. I so appreciate all that you both said. I'm hoping one day to look in the mirror and truly see myself instead of who people, including my family said I was.

Thank you, Maurice, for hosting another great visit. I always glean something new to try for better living. I, too, had a kidney tumor that was expected to be cancerous. I was one of the "lucky" ones whose turned out to be benign but thanks to Cameron for acknowledging how painful it was. I have a high pain tolerance and endured cancer and chemo 19 years ago but I was not expecting the level of pain with those five little tiny incisions and that robot rummaging around inside me hunting for that tumor to chop it out!!! You made me feel so much better about how much pain I was in because I was thinking I had turned into some kind of wimp. You men don't know how much good you are doing just sharing your lives. I also appreciated the reminder about sugar feeding cancer and the toxins we all deal with on a daily basis. Plus, I'm sorry about Maurice's bad experience with a famous sports celebrity. It's just another reminder about how easy it is to make someone's day better or worse with something as simple as a smile or handshake (pre-Covid). Thanks again.

I absolutely loved this “episode”. The conversation between Maurice and Cameron was enlightening. It would be great to see a part 2 with Cameron going deeper into “joyful path”.

I have watched All my children and General hospital.This was first I knew of Cameron’s kidney cancer. My husband has it for the second time the first they took the kidney five years later they found it again but it has matastisized to all his other organs and he has had two years of chemo.

I really think this needs to be a tv show, so more ppl know about/see it. It's so enlightening (and entertaining!), Mo.

Cameron, glad you're Cancer free - your story reminds me of my thyroid cancer diagnosis 2 yrs ago. same, I've been telling my doc for years of being fatigue, tired, no energy despite having an active healthy lifestyle and mom of 2 very active kids - I was sent to endocrinologist for 2nd opinion on osteoporosis (was diagnosed in my 40s!) Doctor ordered thyroid scan, viola had cancer. 1/2 gland is removed, cancer free, no chemo/ radiation. I've watched only 2 shows AMC & GH, love both. Sonny please go back to PC. 🙏💖
