Superb, especially the main final valse #7 and the epilogue : what a splendour, emotion, verve and clarity, as always: what a great pianist :)

Is a most capable, good pianist.... the best tempos for the work, M.M. 72 for 1st movement; 66 for the pretty, noetic 3d movement- as also, the following one; M.M. 52, for the 8th movement. There might be numerological meaning in these numbers- 72 is Material Works, the second decan of Capricorn; 66 is Perfected Work, the third decan of Aries; 52 is Prudence, the first decan of Yeh, formerly called Virgo. Yeh means "Lovers"; neither is there any goddess Artemis in Hierarchy anymore; Mulciber rules that sign, now. With special genius and inspiration, the great Frankish composer brought forth something extremely special, for humanity! Good to cognate, also, is the Hesperethusian moodality; one such mythos, The Well At The World's End, from whence the best creativity is derived also... the 3d movement, very much like a tale of the Far Country, beginning something like "Once upon a time, in a very far away place, and very long ago..." A story teller is best a Herbringer or Saeger also...

Another prize-winning wunderkind to come out of the piano dep't at the Moscow Conservatory where he was trained to produce a gorgeous full ringing concert-hall sound as well as the most subtle pianissimi. Prodigious technique. Arcadi's only deficiency, regretably, seems to be what's happening on his face, not in his hands. Another former student S. Richter had it right when he advised the pianist to turn off almost all the lights when playing. Train the audience to lsten to the music, Richter believed, and not to look at expressions or hand and feet.

+NYFA Paris I whole heartedly agree. However, I'm more inclined to forgive Arcadi than a certain Lang Lang...

+NYFA Paris MAKING REMARKS ABOUT THE FACE OF THIS GREAT MUSICIAN IS VERY UNKIND. HE PLAYS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MUSIC ONE CAN IMAGINE. ISN´T THAT ENOUGH TO ASK FROM A PERSON. WANDA LANDOWSKA WAS THE GREATEST BACH INTERPRETER AND HER FACE WAS NO GREAT BEAUTY EITHER.

It is enough and easier for the listener NOT to look. You can listen with closed eyes.

Racist!! They botg do unusual facial expressions but the difference is langx2 is Asian and Volodos is Russian....both are passionate in their craft but again lang2 is asian... Why cant we just enjoy their passions? Comparing langx2s facial expressions to daniil trifonov again langx2 losses respect because he's asian.... None the less they are both successful because of their gifts.... Stop comparing them like arthur rubenstien said " you cannot compare pianists because they are both worlds
@オリバーオリバー-e4d

Best version ever indeed. Myriads of colors, Ravel at his best. ( But...all the faces...surely one can learn to control that...Horowitz never made a twitch...) And this is nothing against Volodos...I mean this in general with musicians...

You can hear Chabrier all the way through this. Too loud, though (so was Chabrier).
