Just had to do a full strip down all electrics out, what a pain in the ass that bottom motor mount screw is, I see what you meant exactly and did exactly the same and upgraded the screw. Looks like Im going to have to do this myself very soon as It seems like ive lost power to one of the reel wheels. Its weird when at full throttle it spins ok ,but it takes longer to pick up than the other three wheels and stops before the otthers, also noted at very love revs its not moving at all amd when at full felt I can touch it and it stops turning with the lightest touch. Oh well all this is new to me so here we go again. Any tips appreciated mate.
One rear wheel can be held still and the other will spin when powered, so it's ok if it does that. See if there is any crunching or slipping gears if you leave the front wheels on the ground and lift both rears up and apply a bit of pressure by hand as to turn both rears together, if there is not a lot of play and they don't crunch gears the diff is probably ok, assuming the pinion and spur aren't slipping (or the propshaft) then the fronts will turn. If you do strip it and check it out put some silicone grease in the diff but try to keep it off the screw threads and do the screws up tight so it doesn't come apart like mine did 👍
Cheers for that, I'm going to take it for a spin tomorrow, and see how it gets on, only had it out twice, no big jumps ot heavy use at all, 2 bent axels, no suspension, full electrical breakdown after going through a little puddle, no shims what so ever behind hexes and a different servo fitted than what's in all photos of same model which is now weighing in it's mounts and shading the plastic where the servo acted down wtf!!!! Think I'm going to contact people I bought it from and complain, oh and a faulty hpi 5000 battery, RC Geeks in the UK
oh my god, this disassembly is confusing. When you guys put your hands on your model, STUDY IT. At the beginning the manual must always be open, to disassemble the differential it was enough to remove only the screws of the case, shock tower and arms of the wheels were not needed
That's just how I did it before I knew what was wrong, it's easier with bits out the way. I'll see if I can leave the shock tower and more parts on next time 😂
