Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for this one.....Just purchased that app today. You chose focus POI when creating your route and I'm wondering if you chose Interpolate would that allow the curves to work. I'll be testing that theory this week...
Nice...thanks for sharing. Given that DJI is only providing the crippled "Virtual Sticks" API rather than the full blown API that they used to provide on M2P and before, I wonder if Litchi will ever be able to provide proper curved routes. Curved routes are important for getting cinematic video with Waypoints.
DJI announced recently that they are finally releasing the SDK for the Mini 2/SE and the Air 2S in late December 2021. I’m looking forward to this and the many other features Litchi offers us in his software for the Mini 2.
Excellent, it appears the app is out of beta and available on iPhone IOS. Great headsup, thank you....leaves DJI in the dust with their own drone. Shame on DJI for not making this available and thank you to Litchi for coming thru for us.
Hi Henrik. I've just bought this app at a reduced price with free money from my Google rewards app based on your video. I'm going to familiarise myself with it and hopefully get out at the weekend and start flying again. Keep up the good work.
@@northwestlife_9 after a few close waypoint test runs I went for the big one around the field. I checked what would happen if I lost connection and was assured the mini would carry on with the mission and return. At the far side of the field I lost connection. A message popped up saying the mission could not be completed and I panicked. I hit the RTH and walking towards the last known position the video reconnected just in time to see it crash in to a tree about 40ft up. I had to return the next morning as it was getting dark and not worth the risk of climbing the tree. I've just turned 50! 😂 I went back in the morning with a friend just in case I fell out of the tree. Armed with a pole I managed to knock it free. It fell to earth and i think it was this point where an arm snapped. It's all fixed and flying again but my first and so far only flight since, the range didn't seem to be to good.
@@jacktheladfrost OH man!! So sorry. I bought the app and thought a waypoint in my front yard was safe. But the default cruise speed is Mach speed. LOL. I didn't get the drone away from the house far enough so it ran into the corner of my gutter before I could even move the sticks as it dutifully charged through the waypoints. Thankfully, it bounced off and completed the mission like a Mandalorian. I'm 59 1/2. My ticker can't take that kind of excitement too often. LOL
That looks like the best app I've ever seen. I love to do Way points but get discouraged using a cellphone.. I only hope they will come out with a version for the EVO 2.
Thanks for you video... You don't touch the point and I could not find the way either to move one of the waypoinst once is place on the map . Last minute finding: In the mobile app you do can move the location of a way point just by pressing and holding anyone of them to the place you need. (Could not find this hability in the desk top)
Hi Henrik, I've been watching your Litchi videos for a while now and am currently waiting for the app to be updated before buying a DJI Mini SE. Odd that the waypoint commands don't work with curves. Perhaps they should rename the app G-litchy
Thanks for the video. I've tried it and it works fine. But it looks like that the camera is shaking a lot (and there was no wind). Is there a setting I can use ? Thanks
Have you determined a method of stabilizing the flight a bit more, to achieve a better cinematic result? Is this perhaps just a function of speed and slowing it down?
Hi . If you start on level ground and the way point goes of say a cliff and the ground level is the more , do you try quess that or keep same hight , and the ground level change ?
Hi, can you make a review on what will happen to the mavic drone if it enters a no fly zone while flying? I tried to google answers but i cant find any. I hope you can note this comment.
Hi. Does it work when controller lost connection to the drone like in Phantom 4? Used to own one and it flow all the points even when I have no connection to the drone.
One more question...if you create a waypoint route with eg 3 POI....How do you set for each waypoint if the drone and gimbal should focus on POI 1, 2 or 3?
Hi can you help please?? with mini 3 pro need to take 5 photos on a project from the same point every month very simple but no such an option Thank you very much Ronny
That's awesome! Do you have to launch the drone with DJI fly app before starting Litchi or can you do it all from Litchi on its own? Love the informative videos!
interestingly you cant change /edit the POI on each way point once you have done coarse . only at the time of placing the way point , so best to set up the POI and then place its direction on each way point ?? correct ?
@@TECHDRONEMEDIA ummm ok well I set it up as show…. Then went back to way point and tried to redirect to another poi but it wouldn’t do it /? Maybe iam missing something /? If you do another video might you show us how it’s done plz
If we lost control from remote than what will happen because like pixhawk we upload our mission in flight controller but in mini we can't upload the mission so it's mean we only rely on remote if we lost control mission will stop
When I open missions on my laptop I can't see the whole menu. The red and green buttons at the top and the blue arrows at the bottom are hidden. Any ideas? ...... Sorted. Ctrl and -
this is what i do with my 14 year old students. we start with the tello edu drone and end with planning missions with the phantom 4. they love it. i would love to upgrade to the air 2s with the smartcontroller but it does not have the sdk feature. i would like to know why dji does not add this feature to their new drones.
DJI seems to have lost their way on Waypoint functionality. Not only did they stop offer their own Waypoint functionality (last product to have it was M2P released in 2018) they have also stopped offering a robust API that 3rd parties could use to have access to so that these 3rd parties solutions could offer advanced Waypoint features. Now DJI is only offering a crappy Virtual Sticks API on some of their newer drones (e.g., DJI Mini, Air 2) that limits some of the Waypoint features (e.g., continue mission when out of range, curved waypoints, etc.). So that is the bad news. The good news is that DJI plans to expand the number of drones that will support the Virtual Sticks API in early 2022. It is my understanding that the Air 2s will support the SDK (Virtual Sticks API) in early 2022. Litchi has said that they will add support for the Air 2S after DJI releases the SDK. Litchi will need a few months to do the port and test it properly...so Litchi software should be available on the Air2S in 1H'22...assuming DJI delivers SDK in early 2022. If you are interested in Waypoints please go to the DJI website and let them know of your interest. If enough people do that may DJI will find their way again on Waypoints.
I would LOVE to be able to use this on my Air 2S. DJI should release the API for all their drones, or license this software and put the features into their own app!
Don't forget that you can preview/fly your programmed missions with Litchi's VLM (virtual Litchi Mission) where exporting the VLM will allow you to test the mission on your computer after you export the VLM with and add-on app.
isnt it ilegal to fly the drone without it being in your sight of view? or by doing something else when the drone is flying? thats ilegal to stay inside and to just let the drone to fly by itself outside
Would be nice if the drone passed over the Waypoints during the curves instead of short cutting the straight paths with the Waypoints outside the flight path.
Tony Weckström I agree on the video. I expect you can delete and move individual waypoints to cause the drone to fly in a curve over a desired point. Must move the waypoint further out or in to get the curve the correct shape. Not important over a field, but would be say tracing the fairways on a golf course. Especially any "doglegs".
TECH DRONE MEDIA If I put in camera actions, I would not use curves. Too bad LITCHI took them out for curves, but perhaps because you do not pass over the waypoints.
