The animated film is based on the poem of the same name in three acts "Forest Song" by Lesya Ukrainka. The play was written in 1911 in the city of Kutaisi, and was first staged on November 22, 1918 at the Kyiv Drama Theater. The work is one of the first prototypes of fantasy in Ukrainian literature.

I've already seen this cartoon in the cinema, I really liked it. It's so soulful, I felt like a kid watching it. And the visual part is beyond praise. I recommend it to everyone, although of course the original in Ukrainian sounds 10 times better.

Yes, I think the release date for many countries is not yet agreed, or the local dubbing of the animated film is not finished or something. The video description has a link to the social network where the news can also be. And yet, it is possible that RU-vid will show you the trailer in your language in the recommended videos when it appears.

We are working on it, we want Mavka to be distributed internationally so that as many people as possible all over the world could see the animated feature. We have already got some arrangements with international distributors but at this stage we can’t disclose the première dates in other countries. Please follow our updates.

I'm fascinated with Mavka. It's a marvellous fairy-tale based on the Lesya Ukrainka's drama. Wonderful Ukrainian costumes, genuine dances and heartful singing. Beautiful and ancient Volyn wildwoods, virgin nature and magical willow. The cartoon is rich in symbolism. It addresses the issues of human influence on nature, female leadership, struggle of good and evil, vital role of emotions. Highly recommended cartoon! The Ukrainian myth come true! Still now.

I haven't watched the movie and I doubt I'll be able to anytime soon, but I just want to congratulate Animagrad. Making a movie during a war and doing such a great job despite all the setbacks and hardships is an amazing feat. I have been WAITING for this to come out for YEARS. I remember the night I saw the Official Teaser 5 years ago. I loved the little flute tune, and the animation was so good and so beautiful. The vocals in that teaser were so pretty. The one thing I did notice was the art style for Mavka had changed. I was a bit sad, but working on it for 5 years? Your style is definitely going to change. I can't wait for US release!!
