The Mujaddid Pir Syed Mehr Ali Shah Sahib رحمہ اللہ تعالى echoing the pain of yearning after beholding the vision of our beloved صلى الله عليه وسلم, the essence of beauty.

Translation:
jab say laagay toray sang nain piya
neend gayi, aaraam nahin saari saari rain piya
Beloved! Ever since my eyes did yours
meet,
All rest is gone, beloved; nights no longer do I sleep!

dukh aa'ey, sukh bhaag ga'ey
sab ‘aysh miTaa, saaraa chain piya
Pain has come and all joy has fled,
Beloved! All enjoyment and pleasure has left,
-
tan, man, dhan, sab tujh peh waaroo(n)
waar dewoo(n) kawnayn piya
Upon you may I sacrifice, wealth, heart and soul,
Beloved, on you I would ransom the universe, all!

jiya taRapat hai darsan deejo
sadaqah Hasan Hussain piya
My heart is yearning, grant me to behold you again,
O' Beloved! For the love of your Hasan and Husayn!

"wa salli ‘alā" kya shaanan hai
"lā mithluka fi'l-dārayn" piya
Prayers be upon you! What glory be in this!
Beloved, non akin to you in either world exists!

mihr-i ‘Ali hai hubb-i nabi aur hubb-i nabi hai mihr-i ‘Ali¹,
"laHmuka laHmī wa jismuka jismī"², farq nahī(n) mā-bayn piya
Devotion to 'Ali, is love of the Nabi, and love for the Nabi is devotion to 'Ali¹,
"Thy flesh is my flesh, thy body is my body"², Beloved, there's no difference in between!

N O T E S
¹ - Mihr-i 'Ali translated literally is "devotion to/love of Ali" and it is also the name of the poet, which is traditionally inserted into the last verse of a ghazal (called the maqta‘) as a takhallus/poetic pen-name. So, it serves a dual purpose here.
