On October 20th, 2001, a brand new show for Nick jr/noggin first premiered on a Saturday Morning at 7:30am CST, the episode went normally for the first 2 minutes until it was unexpectedly disrupted by some signal hijack that was displaying bizarre glitches and unsettling images and music.
The broadcast signal intrusion during the “Max and Ruby” episode left a lasting impact on both viewers and broadcasting networks. It raised important questions about the vulnerability of broadcast signals to unauthorized access and interference. Additionally, the exposure to such disturbing material provoked discussions about its psychological effects on young audiences.
By now:
One day taking place at a local Starbucks on October 15th, 2012, I met a woman by herself, I introduced myself and asked how her day was, we chatted for a while until we got to the point where she was about to tell me this one story that she wanted to talk to someone about, so this is what she had told me. When I was about 8 years old in 1987 her parents both disappeared one day while I was playing in the backyard with my little brother Max, we had no idea what to do or where to go and didn't know how to use the telephone and had a house that was very far away from town. One day when I woke up, I couldn't find my brother anywhere, he left a note on a desk that read "Riley, I am going to find mommy and daddy, see you soon!" but he never came back, I had spend days looking everywhere in the forest for him but he was nowhere in sight, I was all alone, not knowing how to ask for help, all alone in this frontier house. One day I heard a knock on the door and it was the police, they had explained that our parents had been drunk driving and crashed their car into an ocean and had been marked missing for almost a week until a rescue helicopter saw their car and dead bodies floating in the ocean and collected the bodies and tried locating their home and relatives. After all that, I was put in Foster Care for about a year and finally got adopted, but unfortunately, I had parents who were mistreating me, they would punish me for the dumbest reasons, and they would drink way too much just like my original parents. So I decided to move out when I turned 18 and worked as a librarian, and I met this one friend who works at Nick Jr studios and is one of the people who would make Nick Jr shows such as Blues Clues, Little Bear, etc. She asked me for some suggestions for a new show for Nick jr since the producers were stuck on making ideas for new shows or new episodes, working as a librarian I would look at this one particular children's book series called "Max and Ruby" It was about these two brother and sister bunnies, It was one of my favorite book series at the time because It actually reminded me of me and my little brother because of the fact that max likes being messy, I was always pretty bossy and sophisticated towards my brother, and one dark part was max and ruby didn't have parents at all, or at least, they never showed the parents, so I recommended my friend that they should make a TV show about Max and Ruby. Then in the year of 2000, I got a letter from my friend that read "Dear Riley, remember that one day I asked you if you had any suggestions for the next Nick jr show? well, guess what? they are actually making Max and Ruby into a Cartoon! isn't that exciting? the show is officially in development right now! and they are predicting the first episode to premiere October 20th, 2001" At first I was very excited that my very favorite book series was gonna be a Nick Jr show. Then on October 20th, 2001, the episode premiered, the episode had started off completely normal until when it hit the 3-minute mark there was a message on the screen that read "Where's Max?" That was when everything started getting messed up, It had displayed scenes with portraits of me and my brother's faces on screen, and there was this one scene that looked a lot like that one time me and my brother were on our own after our parents had gone missing and that my brother had disappeared as well, until I realized it wasn't supposed to be apart of the episode, It was a Hijack. The authorities still couldn't find the people who would do this and I was perplexed because first of all, I had totally never told my story besides my friend who works at Nick Jr. Studios, and second who would even interfere with that occurrence on a children's public accessed TV show. After that incident, I tried calling my friend about what had happened but she never picked up my phone and after that, I never saw her again. I was very surprised by what I had heard, I asked her a few personal questions about it, and then we exchanged phone numbers, and she luckily had recorded the footage and still has it and I uploaded the video with permission.
