Originally this Max B record “Why You Do That” was originally for Jim Jones. The plan was to link up with him at Quad Studio in NY. Unfortunately arkatech beatz was running late from a previous engagement and New York traffic was a mess so by the time he got there it was late and Jim was locked down in another session or meeting Arkatech Beats figured he would just wait it out but as he waited it started to look like a dead night Max B seeing him waiting approached Arkatech and said he’ll walk into the meeting and hand him the CD with music for him. Arkatech figured he would just do that and reschedule maybe even bringing additional new beats. Apparently Max B didn’t give the beat CD to Jim Jones he kept it for himself and recorded the song “Why You Do That” an underground smash that was on its way to becoming a major single unfortunately Max B and Jim fell out & Max got into legal trouble and that was it there was talks about maybe doing a why you do that remix featuring French Montana but it never happened who knows maybe he can still happen one day.
If Jim wasn’t so pressed about Max surpassing him as he was more musically talented, they could have had a relationship like Wayne and Drake. Instead Jim wanted to treat Max like a ghostwriter and a tool to pen hits, and take all the credit for himself. Selfish as f*ck.
He had rhymes that you can see happening if you just closed your eyes, a true emcee in his prime we were fortunate to have him the game at that time. Legend

You made this comment in 2017. It's 2024 and he still on lock. Just thought I'd type a response 7 years later. I think it's 5yrs overdue from your projected time huh?#freetha 🌊
This is my favorite song from Max B. And this is the song that I played for my homies that didn't like him at first then couldn't stop listening to his songs.
It would have been very interesting had he not gone to jail. One thing about Max is that he could ride a beat about as good as anyone ive ever heard. Not saying hes the best but one thing did extremely well was ride tracks. That's why its the wave!
