I will say that to my eye, comparing all the radical balls I’ve seen thrown, the max actually continues through the pins better. Most of the time they look like they just puke when they hit the pins. That one actually looks amazing

how would you compare this max bias to a Katana Assault? safe to assume that the Max picks up earlier than the assault?

Luke ‘ are you taking a 4 step to the approach ? I watch both videos of the mind set and this one. I’m thinking of the new mindset . But love the see the hi MB working hard towards the rack. The radical hi MB, seems like everyone will want that ball but as you said the MS

This one by a mile. This is a crazy strong asymmetric ball and the Cypher is a medium strength symmetric ball, there's 3 or 4 balls in between the two of them

I’ve heard several people say 5x4x2 is essentially a basic generic layout. It doesn’t sound like you at all to not put more thought into it than that. What’s the story here?

Wha? Why does something need to be abstract? Sure it's a neutral layout, but that's to let the ball's natural characteristics shine through easier. If I go super strong or super weak or super weird, I'm going to be messing with the reaction. If I go super strong, then balls like this will look awful and weaker balls will look fine. If I go weak, balls like this will look fine but the weak balls will look awful. If I go abstract or weird, then everything is going to look odd or be more niche. This layout will let the ball be the ball, it shouldn't really beef anything up or kill anything, and it will let me use the same layout on everything so that it's easier to see the differences between the balls rather than continuing to change them. So it's not an absence of thought, it's very intentional and purposeful. Plus everything reacts good with it, bowling doesn't have to be as complicated as everyone wants it to be.

Luke, do you tend to layout everything the same? How many go to layouts do you have?

Yeah, part of it is for the videos, it's hard to compare different balls that have different layouts, it's better to keep the layout constant so you can see the differences in the balls. The other part is that this layout works well for me, and if you DO keep layouts the same, it lets the ball differences be what they are rather than drilling a long and sharp ball to be earlier and smoother and vice versa. Occasionally I'll go with a different layout if I'm looking for a specific reaction, but I tend to stay with the same one most of the time.

Looks like the Max Bias will do well for people that spin the ball, with a low track, and a lot of tilt.. The strong asymmetrical core will help the ball lose axis tilt and roll strong through the pins. For high tracks and low tilt it seems like this ball wants to roll forward very quickly.

I think it has a lot to do with oil volume too, I think I'd have done really well with this righty, where I had a lot higher track and low tilt. Big Radical asyms are typically pretty continuous, so the only way I could see this ball getting forward is if people are trying to use it on too much friction and making it burn up.

@@LukeRosdahl in some other videos I've seen, if they didn't really get around it, the ball basically moved three boards and hit very weak. Probably partly to low oil volume, but a super high intermediate is going to make the transition super fast from hook to roll... Something Mo was famous for creating... Like his double thumb weight hole layout..

Yeah a big mass bias will definitely make it want to go forward or stand up, but it's a really strong ball and I think most other reviewers bowl on pretty dry house shots, so I'm not surprised it wants to go forward for others.

@@LukeRosdahl yep.. also likely. My style turns these types of balls into duds. The ball needs more oil but as there is more oil my rev rate isn't enough to over power the heavier oil. In your opinion, what's a ball that just seems to move and have backend regardless of the amount of oil? I've been looking at the new Conspiracy.

@@JAW_73 It doesn't really work like that, more friction will make stronger balls go forward, and enough friction will make everything go forward. It's all purely physics
