Here's all I can say, people: Join the media. I work in TV news, with some background in photojournalism, now in production. I'd be deluded to say I've helped to 'shift the narrative' where I work, but I at times have intercepted it, and at least made it not always easy to tell these lies. If you have an education of any kind -- or even a steady work history -- your local media may hire you. Apply. Newspapers, TV stations, radio, it doesn't matter. Some of you may have to come in on for the technical department -- camera operations, sound board, etc. -- but it's possible to make a lateral move to news. Not saying it's LIKELY, only possible. This proposal I understand is so fleeting that it seems completely futile, but it's better than nothing. . .working as a server or barista, especially.
