@@automatonm99why you say that? What changes you observe to the present? And from which country you are? I m really interested of how the world then vs now I'm from Greece and from what I ve seen this far we may be some years behind from other countries in some critical aspects of society such as family bonds or big corporations invading etc maybe not bad we live still in the past in some ways
I really wish this guy was about nowadays. I feel like it could really lead somewhere, especially with A.I. and computer learning being what it is. A parody of that would probably be quite successful. I get that the actor is still alive but I highly doubt he would want to sit in makeup for three hours minimum every day at his age.
Max Headroom is getting rebooted. Provided they don’t turn it into a woke nightmare maybe it will be ok. Matt Frewer is reprising the role and they are talking about creating a fully cgi Max. It makes sense. Put some of those mocap sensors on his face and go to town. No makeup required.
@@Captureman What I think would be a fun subversion is if rather than makeup doing its best to approximate computer graphics, like the original Max here, they made a CGI model that did its best to replicate a real human.
Even in the 1980s when he was in his late 20s, Frewer had severe difficulties with the grueling makeup sessions required for the role. He felt that those makeup sessions were pure torture. The contacts that he had to wear hurt his eyes so much that his corneas were painfully lacerated just by wearing the contacts. That’s why you see Max Headroom wearing sunglasses a lot of the time...it’s so that Frewer’s eyes could heal without having to wear the contacts that hurt him. Now that is what I would call suffering for the sake of performance art. I feel pity and sympathy for him.
What I love of the people behind Max is about the same thing I’d do with a nice budget I’d do. Gets teen and young adults attention cause it’s counter-culture and it would make talking heads and old people mad thinking that TV is indoctrinating their kids. Which means cheap and free publicity cause it’s easy wild up sheep and hogs about anything that seems “sinister”. It’s the anti-whatever are the ones that are triggered the most *cough* (Republicans) that give power to their boogeyman. They feed the corporations even with their lame boycotts. They make their own fear without knowing it
