My grandmother was the only surviving member of her family in the Ukraine, I am named after her sister who died a slow agonizing death from starvation, it’s only by the grace of God that she survived, my grandfather and his brother were also survivors only because they worked in factories that gave them barely enough to eat in order to have strength to work, he met my grandmother and they fled to America as soon as they were allowed to leave the country.
