In very poor areas like favelas, yes, it is pretty accurate BUT that's because the government doesn't give a fuck about them and the only way they can have their basic needs fulfilled is from those drug dealers that carry guns. That being said, don't make it sound like Brazilians live in the middle of the war zone. I have seen worse scenarios even in the united states
I visited a favela in Brazil on a favela tour and there were literally dudes walking around with pistols and one did have an assault rifle. If your are in certain parts of Brazil it could be.

My best friend grew up in favela in Salvador and learned perfect English since he was 6 years old. Those who do not speak English well simply need to put more effort into this task if they want to speak better at the language. It's possible. Conseguiram deixar as favelas pior do que já são....favela não é tão bonito, mas também não é algo com esse aspecto horroroso. Outro detalhe, bandido não rouba ninguém dentro do morro. Outro detalhe gringo armado dentro do morro já tava morto. A ideia foi boa, mas oque aconteceu foi novamente nosso país sendo exposto ao ridículo. Da próxima vez façam uma visita, estudem as culturas, conheçam realmente nosso povo. Pra depois fazer jogo.
Desculpe, eu nao falo bem portuguese, mas quando visite uma favela no Brasil, estavam pessoas la que levam armas como pistola e rifle, Obviamente essa e um video jogo e vai aparecer mais ridiculo. Porem e um ascpecto da realidade que definitivamente existem mas menos exagerado. Essa era uma favela em Rio, Sao Paulo e provalmente mais seguro. Eu concordo, nao sao um lugar do horror, bandidos somente sao um aspecto da favela, a maioria da gente que moram nas favelas sao ciudidanos regular. Any gameplay video's for max payne 3 should be titled like this: "favela cutscenes" - PC max settings. This "game" should be in the record books for the longest game with almost no actual gameplay ever released.
Let Max rest in peace finally, he's gone through too much to even want to see him get dragged in again. Unless they name it Max Payne 4 but use a different protagonist.
Max's story is over. He's done everything that he needed to in order to come to terms with everything. Just because a game series is good doesn't mean that there should be game after game after game. Sometimes it's perfect to end the story where it should
