Max & Ralphee: All Grown Up

Teejo Teejo That's how I got Mila. It was snowing outside & she was all alone; a runt who would latter contract athsma. My parents were initially against letting her in because our older cat would attack her, but I guilt tripped them into it. Unfortunately at the age of 7, she had a fatal asthma attack before we could get her to the emergency vet. My uncle even tried giving her CPR.

Always remember; Those seven happy years are a much better alternative than a few hours in the snow, or even a long, miserable life. Don't think of it as her life having been cut short, but that she was given an extra seven years thanks to you.

Teejo Teejo ... Such a sweet story. I'm sure that's not your only one. I have several also. When I have a "blah blah" day I am so glad to have my animals and so proud I was raised to appreciate "critters". If it weren't for my pets/animals/4-legged-friends/fursters ... I don't think I would have made it. Not the best of childhoods but life goes on and hopefully I'm able to give back a little. Take care, happy 2018

Sadly, we didn't live happily ever after. My crazy cat lady days with him were cut WAY to short. My kile turned one on December 25, 2015.... On Jan. 15, 2016... He fell off my patio and broke his hips, pelvis and lower back. We rushed him to the hospital to get looked at by our vet. ( I knew the minute that we walked in there my baby boy would not be coming home with me.) When the vet came in to look at kile, he was very gentle and kind. Kile having NEVER been outside of the house.. (we were lucky to find a vet to make house calls).. or around anyone else but my little closed in family... Wasn't scared, didn't growl, swipe at or hiss at him.... He just froze. As though he was awaiting the news for himself. The vet saw that he was in pain and took him back to get blood work and x-rays underway... He came back and told me that the x-rays would take time.... He would be in great hands and to come back in a hour or two. ..... My family and I went to get some dinner and then come back... ... Half way thought dinner, I just broke down into tears. .... It was at that point, I got a phone call in the middle of dinner from the vet. I answered the phone and immediately I heard kile yelping... The vet said that they were unable to get near him to get the blood drawn, give him sedition to get the x-rays done. ... In my head, I was SCREAMING out to my little boy over the phone, my heart was already out the door hell bent on reaching him.. But my legs wouldn't move. I was STUCK... and he needed me the most. I calmed myself, and asked the vet to put the phone on speaker phone and place it by the cage... The vet was hesitant, but did as I asked. Once the vet said kile could hear me, I began to sing to kile his song.... The song I sang him EVERY NIGHT for a year.... However, all I had to sing was " Hey Jude " .... And I noticed his crying got lower... I, sitting in Taco Bell, was now talking to my cat on the phone telling him to be a good kitty boy, to calm down and listen to mom. ... That he needed to be brave and let the doctors look at him. That if he was a good boy, when mommy came back, I would bring him a treat and his wubby. But only if he was a good boy and stopped crying. By the time I was done talking to him, he was calm enough to let the doctors nurse get him out of the cage and sedate him. When the vet came back on the phone, he said if he wouldn't have been here to see that himself, he wouldn't have believed it. We got back to the vets office about 45min. later... The vet came in the room, and told us that it was worse than he thought. He said that kile was born with brittle bone density and this was bound to happen. That if not now, if would have happened... It was just a matter of time. He showed me the x-rays as he began telling me that my baby was now paralyzed. The fall had damaged his spinal cord. Now, we were told that we could have the surgery to repair the damage to the hips and the pelvis, but he wouldn't be the same kile. The vet said that he would have to be on pain meds for the rest of his life. .. I didn't care about how much money everything would have cost, I would have gladly payed for it and then some. He was more than a "cat" to me. He was my sidekick in everything I did and everywhere I went. Just like my kids, if kile couldn't go along, or couldn't do something with me, I didn't do it and I didn't go. Kile was a climber. He loved to run fast and snuggle up with me at the end of my day to watch Netflix, TV, and RU-vid. He was always jumping into or onto something. So the fact that he now was paralyzed, killed me. And I knew that it would leave him mean, unfriendly and unforgiving. I would give anything, for one more day with him. Just to be able to have one more "kile vision" movie time, one more head butt just to say hi, to hear his noiseless meow and give him ALL of my pillow. ... When you think of people and there pets, it's easy, to look from the outside in and pass the "creepy" judgement or just to look at them and see a "unhealthy/unnatural relationship" bond between the two. But a bond between a human and animal, cannot truly be understood from onlookers. Kile, was the piece of me, I didn't know I was even missing. The part of me that was childlike. The part I never showed. The part of me that my family, my husband, my children weren't meant to fill. He was the part of me that I THOUGHT I out grew long ago. That night, in the vets office, as I was going to lean into him and tell him one last goodnight, kile, as if to do the same, gave me a final headbutt and I LOVE YOU MOM snuggle. 

Oh dear. I am very sorry to hear. it's what all of us cat ladies know too well. The pain of losing a cat is something incredibly crushing. I lost my ten year old cat just October last year a day after my birthday. She was brutally attacked by some dogs that snuck into the property. It was that one time she took courage to go outside and explore and then she never came back. My darling was everything to me and even if I knew that the day would come when goodbyes had to be said, I know I wouldn't be able to completely let go. It was really hard at first, horrible. I couldn't work, eat, or sleep for days. I kept on blaming myself and what ifs. That was a stage in my life I'd never want to go through again! But time heals...agonizingly slow, but it does. Just recently, I adopted a new cat named Bella and it really helps. It's not like a replacement for my old one but maybe more of a tribute to her life. I wish you happiness dear and I'll pray that one day, you'd be able to move on. Well i know maybe not completely since you mentioned he took a piece of you with him but hopefully well enough that when you remember, you'd think more of the happier memories rather than the sad. They're in a better place is what I'd like to think. Rainbow bridge or whatever. I'm truly sorry for your loss.

Yeah Ralphee seems to have come to terms with it. Full control is not possible but all things considered Ralphee is going great.

Wakaleo thanx. same to you !!! i hear a lot of birds. do you have some kinda "zoo" or just love animals/birds? due to a suicide because of acts by a pedophile 22 desember i see a lot stuff concernng animals!!!! they are pure!!! i really like this : ) it helps me being sane.

The birds are wild and live in the area. I usually travel to find animals to feature on my channel. Glad you enjoy it :)
