MY favorite part about his reaction is how much the direct just kept going while Max basically got shot in the head. Like Max is out here his world fucking SHATTERED and in the background MARIO PARTY.
Yeah, that's it. The Cynical Bastard in my brain is just like: quoting "Okay you nerds, we gave in, now will you SHUT UP and accept that this thing is dead and buried??" from Capcom and Mickey Rat both. They're probably in a "shut it down and move it on" mode. The rest of me? I've mentioned this in passing on some early SF6 stuff, but consider SF6 Modern (3-button) controls for a moment. Then consider the old-ass Capcom game _Magic Sword._ Capcom KNOWS how to make a game where you play two characters at once. One leads, the other follows right behind, and with 6 actual buttons in play, each character gets full attacks. Now imagine teams of 5, where you get to play 2 characters at once and can do MOST of the Street Fighter 6 stuff with the Lead character while you can switch the Following one with the others. And I'm not even remotely a pro here: Capcom can probably do way better than that in their sleep. The only remaining question IS the IP issue: Is Mickey Rat going to fully trust Capcom and NOT pull any shenanigans? (*sighs*) Probably not.
The Punisher was probably the best beat'em'up i played when i was a kid, in the arcades. And i don't think anything better came along meanwhile. I get that most people here only care about MvC, but The Punisher was a great game and a sequel would probably make all the 40yo's like me lose their minds.
"I just want to be surprised" he said. If the signs of having his eyes wide open to the point of almost popping up from the sockets if it weren't for his glasses, the jaw completely dropped, the change of his voice to high pitched screams and shouts, his hands trying to hold his mind to desperately prevent it to be blown and fried, are not of being surprised, then I don't know what it is.
Man even though it’s been awhile since this has been announced, till this day this just feels so fucking unbelievable to me. This series including marvel vs capcom 2 has been a HUGE part of my childhood growing up. Imagine my discovery when I first saw X-MEN vs street fighter at the arcades , and my jaw just fucking dropped to the floor! Thank you Max for being one of the few who NEVER gave up on this game… even if it seemed so damn impossible.
What a move, nobody would have seen that coming in a nintendo direct. perfect place to announce something like this because hardcore fans will hear about it anyway plus the gigantic switch install base could convert a few by this trailer to get into mvc.
I remember walking through my new local movie theater and hearing.."THIS IS XMEN VS STREET FIGHTER" walked over to the arcade, and I put my 25 cents in, picked Wolverine and Cyclops, and fell in love. I'm so happy to have some of my childhood back.. Thank you
@@Sly_Maverick_31 He pulled a Vargskeletor. For context. He kept playing Meglovania randomly during one of the directs where Sans was revealed to be a Mii Fighter costume.
@@Aramane The SF6 S2 Roster did leak all the way back in March on an Eventhubs comment by Lolo147 (with a 2nd leak with more charcters that have prolly been moved to Season 3 by someone else in April) but no one believed it for obvious reasons.
I honestly review max reaction like 20 times, its priceless. Love his true devotion to mvc2, i really drop tears of joy for so much happines i saw in him.
On stream, Max asked, "Why didn't they show this in EVO?" I have a theory on that. While mostly FGC watches EVO, everyone watches a nintendo direct. More eyes = more buys.
I feel like some people live in their niches too much and forget about general audiences, putting this news in something as widespread as a Nintendo direct is a great call.
exactly, this is why superbowl commercials are so expensive. putting it at EVO when most pepole who watches Evo already is going to buy this anyways, is fine, but putting it in the eyes of casuals is essential
What if they didn’t announce it at EVO because they have a bigger MvC announcement planned for that show… I don’t think that’s the case, mind you. But what if…
I love how they quickly and casually they just dropped the MvC collection like it was nothing, "oh yeah here's the MvC collection, no biggie, hey look new Mario Party!"
I mean to be fair this is a huge thing for fighting game fans but fighting games are still niche like yah this was this was the highlight of direct for me and imagine this channel but for gamers at large it was just another announcement
I can't tell you guys how many times I have rewatched this to see Max's hope get revived out of the blue this has got to be one of his best videos to date for the sheer joy alone.
The icing on it is the fact that it dropped randomly on a Nintendo Direct and they're like "Here's those games you wanted now, whose ready for some Mario Party??"
I LOVE how in every single official upload of the trailer I’ve seen, there have been multiple comments mentioning or speculating how Max would react. The Dood transcends whenever MvC is involved.
@@Saiyan0X- Or fighting games in general. Every time a fighting game is announced I always see someone bring up Max. He’s basically the face of the fighting game genre.
Man, I was taking a break at work and just scrolling on socials and found out it had been announced. I'm not much of an MvC guy, so the first thing that went through my head was: "Max has probably completely lost his shit" And dammit, I was obviously right xD
I literally had the cabinet in my Best Buy cart for like a whole year. I may still do it just for aesthetic but this collection will be bought 3 separate times guaranteed
Bought one like a few years ago and I honestly have been wanting to sell it just cuz I barely play it and especially this I want it out even more lol it’s a cool arcade but I just wanted the damn game
This reaction made me emotional, Max is a dude that was fully commited to bringing back this series and he is literally doing an overhaul of MVCI with help. Seeing this is a dream
I love how every other gaming review and reaction channel was like, "Yo, somebody go and check on Max Dood" for this spot. They all knew. Edit: Also, can we just say how magical this Direct was? Like, almost everybody got something they wanted... it was stacked.
@@CherryAnime203 I'm thoroughly convinced Max has precognative psychic powers. It's not just the shirts either. Every time he streams a reaction video, he predicts everything with near 100% accuracy. Like, remember the Sephiroth gameplay stream for Smash? He predicted everything from Sephiroth's moveset to the FF7 Mii Costumes to the Sephiroth Challenge. I truly believe that Max can see the future.
I love it so much, the art from the original game is like "well met", "nice to meet you" The one for the collection is like "WE'RE BACK BROTHER!", "HELL YEAH!"
I know that game collections like this are made in advance, but after the success of X-Men '97 it feels like a good time to be an X-Men fan and especially a Scott Summers fan
@@SpideyfanX "I HAVE A WIFE AT HOME" "I HAVE A WIFE AT HOME" "I HAVE A WIFE AT HOME" "I HAVE A WIFE AT HOME" "I HAVE A WIFE AT HOME" Spidey on his mind right now lol
I was literally crying tears of joy while I was getting dental work. Dentist: are you in pain? Me: *mmmhmmm hmhmhmhujmmhhugunmmm* Translating: after all of this is over I’m going to relive my child hood that I know I can’t get back, but revisit for a while.
She'd probably be there for Peter more than MJ in the current comic run, and that's saying something about MJ. I'm happy it's ending soon. Edit: I'm specifically talking about the Amazing Spider-Man run. The one with Paul.
Morrigan would take one look at Peter’s life at that point and be like “Damn, dude. No one deserves that. I know ladies that could kill Paul if you’d like? If anything, he’d enjoy it.”
Probably by keeping a limited few in the info loop....also probably threatened to terminate employment & strict legal actions in case any leak is traced to an employee. The second one is more likely cos I work in the VFX industry & it's how secrets on which movies are being worked on are kept secret.
@@Fishman465if I'm being completely real, I don't think anyone is gonna play that Zelda game. They literally removed the protagonist and completely axed combat 😂
I love how young Ryu looks in that artwork. We're so used to seeing grizzled old man Ryu nowadays, brings me back to the days when I myself was a young lad in NYC, losing matches over and over to Justin Wong at chinatown fair in MVC 2 while he uses b-tier characters like Guile and Jill.
@@UltimaKeyMasterWhat’s fucking hilarious about this is that the timeline is so screwed up that Ryu is barely like in his early to mid 30s, while Sakura still being in high school in 4 made zero fucking sense when she was only like 5 years younger than Ryu in Alpha
@@terribletimes902comic-type chronology with Characters who do not undergo aging, and who do not age. Eternally young characters. that's why I don't like Street Fighter 6 and the MCU they make the characters age, which in my opinion shouldn't be done in licenses that want to be timeless.
Everyone loves how he lost his mind and started screaming, but god, 5:33 when he is clearly on the verge of tears after seeing the MVC youtube channel back is peak Max reactions.
AAAAH! I remember way back when Max was talking about how MvC was supposedly dead. I thought to myself, “I don’t care that much, but I can understand the feeling. After all, I’ll probably never see a new Mario and Luigi game again…” What a fantastic direct to have BOTH of our wishes come true!!!
I come back to this exact bit regularly. For me, it encapsulates us all. But for him, for everything he worked for to get this bad boy back on modern console, he lost it when he realised he was not only getting 1 of those games, BUT ALL OF THEM. This is what it's about, from Banjo, to Sephiroth, our love of these characters is real.
The sheer nonchalance of this announcement was great. They just dropped one of the most hyped fighting games people have been clamoring for with 6 other bonuses, and they gave it as much fanfare as your average indie RPG port.
"We are launching MvC Collection, with almost all games in the franchise, including MvC2 that is currently not selling anywhere. Yay, cool 😃 Anyway, MARIO PARTY, EVERYBODY!"
@@ruanvcunha yeah because Mario Party will sell like 5 times what MvC collection will. Its not a bad thing necessarily. Its just not the biggest deal outside of the FGC.
@@ComicCrossing Super Mario Party sold like 20 million units, Superstar also sold around 10 or more, technically speaking Mario Party was the biggest game of the show.
@@chwenhoou Max also has a really weird power to predict things before they happen. Remember during the Sephiroth Gameplay reveal, Max called EVERYTHING from the mii costumes to the Sephiroth Challenge.
