Imagine how much different things would've been for SFV if we had gotten livestreams like this throughout its lifetime. Really hope this is a sign of things to come for when Street Fighter 6 is eventually a thing!
I think this is a result of the success of the monster hunter world roundtable vids. People love hearing from the devs and seeing them have fun discussing their game is always a treat!
True man. Like Bandai has Tekken and Soul Calibur, NRS has Mortal Kombat and Injustice, while SNK has King of Fighters and Samurai Shodown. I hope Capcom just rest a while for Street Fighter and revive Darkstalkers. Marvel vs Capcom...yea Idk what really happen to this IP anymore. Not really sure if we can still call it as Capcom second main fighting game now...too much politic with Disney involved
@@shawziiz5031 yeah, Disney/Marvel has proven too controlling of their IP and don’t have faith in others to do right by it. The 90s Marvel games enjoyed freedom because Marvel was in no position to make demands, which resulted in obscure but fun characters. But thanks to the movies and the Disney acquisition, things changed and Infinite resulted in the banning of Fantastic Four characters and the X-Men, which was a travesty since Wolverine had been in every Marvel fighting game and his exclusion was inexcusable from a legacy standpoint (imagine Ryu not being in a Street Fighter at all and you see the issue).
@@donaldmokgale3123Damn near as soon as he started talking shit the devs started hyping Rose. I haven't seen that level of the Universe shutting someone up immediately outside of Pat's Crazy Talk.
I love Max and followed him since his UMvC3 days, even watching some of his first streams, but I've always said that he has a bad habit of judging things too much before trying them out. This happened with BlazBlue, KOF, DoA, UNIEL and many more. There are many games he actually enjoyed after trying out, but didn't do it for years for simply not liking the aesthetic. At least, nowadays, he recognizes it and is more open to trying stuff.
these reveals by the capcom devs are reminiscent of what Riot did in their early days, directly communicating with their audience showing off new things, explaining them, and joking around a bit. Its really nice to see.
They’re probably gonna start from scratch again for SFVI, but I’d imagine that they’ll continue with this level of animation quality & go even further beyond.
@@helpkirbyhasagun_2047 I have a gut feeling that they’re going to go for a somewhat more realistic art style for SFVI, albeit not going to RE/DMC5 levels.
Man I wish one of his V-Triggers was an install like Necalli has where he just puts his turtle on his head and starts going hard with both hands basically releasing his lore handicap.
Theres actually Akuma concept art where hes taking care of a baby. Hes carrying it on his back with one arm and beating up people and his Vtrigger was gonna be him putting the baby to sleep so he can actually go HAM with his both fists
The little moment with Akira calling Daigo to drop on Dan AFTER a whole tribute to Dan's theme makes me smile with the realization that Capcom is having fun with their fighting games again!!
Rival Schools characters crossing over into fighting games is always so interesting. Unlike Darkstalkers just putting Morrigan in anything, we seem to get a different Rival Schools character in each new crossover appearance: Kyosuke in CvS2, Batsu in Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and now Akira in SFV. Give it a few years, though, and Akira will be the most well-known Rival Schools character because of this appearance.
The amount of attention to detail in Rose's intro and outro poses, making all of the cards based off of actual tarot cards is INSANE. Good job to capcom for making rose better than she already was 👏👏
@@Kanti852 They actually used Street Fighter based tarot cards. For the 30th Anniversary Capcom released tarot cards based off Street Fighter and it’s the same ones used in Rose victory screen
Akira beating Dan... Is that an obscure reference to Chairperson? Chairperson is a joke character in the Rival School series. She learned karate by mail from the infamous Saikyo Style so in a way she is Dan's disciple.
@@tonywizdard1531 Of course morrigan would pop up in a crossover title that the rosters comprised of almost all of their franchise mascots. They literally put a Rival Schools character in SF dude
It’s not just you, when I used to play it I mainly picked Birdie because of how much I missed him from alpha, I haven’t paid much attention to the game, but since they added Dan, the game has gotten way more unique
@@criticalf0ll0w16 They madr Seth from 0 to 100 real quick and i love it At first i was like "cool, another boss character" which i'm not that excited and considered that Seth in SFIV is kind of eh, and then everything was changed when he got into SFV
@@rezafahlevi9659 and Critical F0ll0w Seth in SFV is one of the most unique characters. But Oro and Rose has become a Killer Instinct Reboot-like character because for Oro when he use V-Trigger 2 items appears but has a very rare chance of getting a very powerful items to attack opponents, Is like use a useful Instinct Mode For Rose cause she FINALLY has a new skill: Magical Tarot Card and you don't need a V-Trigger to do it, it has 3 or 5 different unique effects and colors on each other tarot cards.
They were so, SO close with her tarot cards, the Magician is white instead of red, the Chariot is red when white was closer to silver and they had green and purple but didn't go for the Hierophant and the Hermit...
@@NightmareZerogbs well, avdol did wear white along with red, as does the magician card, and there is a tiny bit of red with pol's earrings and the chariot's crest. the tower being green could also reference kak defeating tower of gray, and purple with death could be a reference to joseph cheating death. these are pulls, but the fact the colors are all there and can be connected to the character when thought out is good enough for me.
I touched sf5 only like three times ever since it came out. I haven’t play for years. Now I’m going to play street fighter again! Rose is the only reason to get me to play again. I just love how unique and magical she is.
Did I notice a slight of sadness yet happiness at the end? Max got slightly emotional and that's when you know he truly love video games/fighting games. I'm happy you get to enjoy this franchise once more.
Maximillian, it is safe to say you are one of my favorite fighting game enthusiasts out there. I wasn’t really around for as long as this channel has been here, hell I was practically born close to the creation of youtube. But after a year now of looking back at older content, with all the pre-streetfighter IV videos, it’s really nice to see your still making content to this day. Keep it up man, i’ll tune in.
@@V4Now Sure, but the Galick Gun has a specific hand positioning that isn't present here: The palm of one hand, behind the back of the other. This is the formation of the Masenko, even if the color of the beam is not the same. We can compromise on it being a mix of both.
This last season has me the most excited of any season reveal since SF5 was released. The Capcom dev team took lots of creative liberties to give these characters fun features and versatile gameplay options
@@yellowcard8100 Well first of all, Rose's design has always been a reference to Lisa Lisa. Same way Guile's design is from Stroheim, Benimaru's references Polnareff. Gill and Urien are Pillar Men, etc. The reason we're saying "even more of a JoJo's reference" here is because Part 3 is all about Tarot Cards. The Persona series, especially Persona 4 is also all about Tarot Cards, and Personas are based on Stands from JoJo's. This is why I said "Persona, which is still JoJo's".
@@penpen1089 I think they know already because Peep this one... like really peep this one... It's A Joke *Vine boom sfx* Just A Laugh *Vine boom sfx* A Joke For Laughs *Vine boom sfx* N O M O R E F U N *Vine boom sfx* YOU GETTING BLOCKED
If they're going for a crossover character with the final slot, I think an Ex Layer character would be a good choice, acknowledging their past work with EX Plus, much like how Akira is representing the past also from Rival Schools. Personally I'd love to see Garuda.
Rose just looks she can perform shenanigans throughout the fight. She looks so much fun to use. Also Akira gets aerial rave????? Capcom do us a solid. Give us rival schools again!
I left for literally one second to get a refill of water and all I was hear from my room when I’m in the kitchen is max going “OH SHIT OH SHIT” and I had to sprint to my room just to see some guy giving Akira a high five
My favorite part about Rose's reveal is that they didn't have to change any of her classic moves. She's still Rose, but her moveset is completely revitalized with the things they've added
I have a feeling Ono had a pretty big stranglehold on streetfighters direction over the years and now they are able to show and have more creative freedom across the board.
I loved playing Rose in STIV she was amazing and was deeply annoyed with her not returning in STV the wait has been long but can't wait to play her again. Akira I'm also definitely interested in air combos and I've never played a rival schools game before and the transition into the current art style is amazing I truly hope they remaster or revisit the franchise the same goes with darkstalkers the designs we had were amazing. I love the characters and resurrection ironically ended the franchise they should take another crack at it and make a better story also Oro's a welcome addition.
With these season's characters, I'm glad all the characters are animating with so much emotion and energy compared to earlier seasons where everyone felt like a robot
My biggest gripe I have with rose is her scarf....looks a bit flat if that makes sense. Other then that, she does seem a lot more technical and fun to play
It's coming back to me. My childhood's absolute fighting game crush, the character that made me love tough short-haired chicks to this day. Akira, I missed you so much.
Interesting fact about Oro is that he lost his fight against Akuma, however Akuma wasn't all that victorious. Rather he wanted to learn Oro's secret of his long life. Akuma may have achieved a higher power and pushed even further from Shin to Oni state. However, the one enemy that can stop him easily is mortality. No matter how powerful he gets, time can take that away from him. Oro, being that he reaches well beyond 100 years old, is still as physically active as a young one. Don't know the full story after, but I guess it goes with the line of "beat the Master to learn the secrets from them" style. He had fought Gen, but rather finish him due to seeing Gen's health. As monster as Akuma is, he actually spared Gen for health alone plus he's a great and self displine fighter to add. Who knows if Akuma had undergo training to achieve such long life after SF3? Will he be different fight wise in SF6, provided if it's finally a sequel and not another-another prequel to SF4 and V?
