The roster has become perfectly balanced, as all things should be. Never ask me for anything else ever again.

I love how they do dlc. They don't start it until the game is finished, which is how it should be. Most games announce dlc, what it includes, and shows footage from it basically saying we want more money. The only dlc nintendo has been working on was the piranha plant and it's free if you buy the game and register it before January 31st.

For everyone saying stuff about Kirby let me clear up the lore. Ignoring Sakurai's obvious bias towards his boy Kirby. Kirby's star is called the Warp Star. Once it reaches top speed it literally teleports which you'll notice that Kirby vanishes right before the beam of light hits him. Kirby is regarded as one of the best star warriors to be able to pilot warp stars but he is bad at landing them which they also show. Kirby is the most powerful character in Nintendo universe.

Smash is a game i will NOT be upset about having a pre-release DLC pass. They expand the roster even more. It's not a secret that some of the devs are burnt of for smash. But Smash is a game franchise with the hearts of many attached to it. But with the Switch being such a satisfying console, we probably won't see another new console for years. That being said, this game could end up like League Of Legends or Brawlhalla with an infinitely expanding roster.

Them announcing DLC to me is fine because A) They didn't announce anyone or show anyone B) No Street Fighter Silhouette bullshit C) Sakurai telling you not to buy the season pass unless you trust them D)6$ for a Stage, multiple musics, and a character, all it 1 of 5 sets Piranha Plant would fall under terrible DLC practice if he wasn't free DLC if you pre-order digitally or buy and register a physical copy. So good on you Nintendo for doing fighting game DLC good!

I look back at this and smile. Piranha was a weirdo character, but also a minion character. Not with a capital M, but rather a goon or low-ranking enemy joining the roster. Sure, we got the big guys like Bowser, Ganondorf, Dedede, K. Rool, but what about the love for the lesser enemies? With this, that group finally got a rep.

Actually Max, they haven’t even started on the DLC characters, so the sting of announcing DLC before the game launches is not as bad. With Piranha Plant, you can still get it free if you register your game by Jan 31.

Character + Stage + BGM should be the standard for all fighting games, regardless whether it's in the launch roster or in a Season Pass.

Day one DLC is what people get pissed about. Nintendo are prioritising finishing the main game first.
