What started as a conversation about a glass of milk turned into a tantrum. Momager told me that birds don't drink milk and I wasn't too happy about that. After I vented my feelings I remembered that Santa might be watching, reminded myself "It's all right Max" and returned to my usual sweet self, although the conversation took a strange turn when I started talking about passwords and using the bathroom. "I swear I'm not a bird. That's not how it works." I even apologized to momager for my tantrum.
After a quick glass of water I was refreshed and forgot about Christmas and vented a few more of my feelings. In so many ways I'm just like a toddler with really big feelings. But you can tell that I have learned the magic words that momager uses to comfort me.
I get upset quickly and I calm down just as easily. Momager knows to give me the space I need to vent my big feelings. She stays calm and waits it out. She also keeps her hands away when I am upset - during a tantrum I'm not always rational about my actions. Tantrums don't last long when you feel safe and secure. My hooman understands that it's just part of me being a bird - I can be very loud, but it's my way to express myself.
Do you think Santa heard me apologize? I hope that he still brings me lots of goodies for my stocking.
