its nuts that max only had driven a race car for 1 season before f1 then went on to crush sainz who had way more experiance

Your numbers seem to be off? Max is way further ahead than Leclerc (05:17)

The difference between Sainz and Verstappen was significant. Verstappen scored 62 points and Sainz only 22 in their races together as teammates. It was only close between them in a select few races, in the majority of the races Verstappen was significantly better.

Sainz had 7 reliability dnfs. 1/3 of a season. Never mind the points loss. As a rookie, to lose that many laps because of reliability is brutal.

@@wannabKsi Sainz had reliability issues when he was running outside of the points. Verstappen actually lost more points due to reliability issues than Sainz did. The comparison is accurate. Verstappen was quicker almost every time both didn't have reliability issues.

@@charlieknight4521 He didn't actually, despite Verstappen having technical issues in 5 different qualifying sessions it ended 10-9 in favor of Verstappen. Sainz got disqualified in Monaco. And if we don't want to count Monaco then also don't count all the sessions where Verstappen had issues.
