Not a fan of Red Bull (doesnt mean I hate them) but I think Max is really important for this generation both on and off the track. He doesn’t buy into all the bullshit that is going on.
What the sport needs to for the toxic fans to get called out and made to feel unwelcome. Hamilton and Verstappen have each got subsections of their respective fan bases that are so horrifically toxic it makes me hate the sport sometimes. It's impossible to praise or critique either of these drivers without some melt coming in and hating on you and them. We've all seen someone say "Crashtappen" or "Shamilton", or said stuff like it's "just the car" for both of them. They're not fans, just hooligans, and the sport needs rid of them, they're a cancer.
@@Pain4yourmind😂and lewis has no wins,so should he be the quitter, but on a serious note, most lewis fans are for his political views, because he's always preaching, racing comes second.max may have more fans for his f1 prowess, cos he doesnt preach and thats why he's 3 times world champion,no time for politics in sport, leave that to politicians, there payed to race
2021 happened, let it go. Coming from a Hamilton fan. Not any of the driver's fault just the FIA fucking up as per usual. I absolutely 100% think Max's approach to media interviews is top notch. Not once does he lie, just tells it how it is. And I know Hamilton is the complete opposite and gives media trained answers to uphold his image but sometimes I wish he'd be more like Max and say what is actually on his mind. Well done Max
I slightly disagree! He should have never accepted the gift he was given by Michael Masi ! He knew full well he never had a hells chance winning that race otherwise. You can tell from this statement it is still bugging him ! He knows the title was stolen from Hamilton ! When I was a child I got very annoyed when I noticed my brother was letting me win ! Simply for the reason that a gifted victory is worth nothing ! I really mean it when I say I would have refused to race Hamilton in that last lap as I would have known it was wrong and couldn't have celebrated a victory I didn't deserve! It's different if my opponent's car breaks down. That's just bad luck for him, but what happened 2021in the last lap of the final race had nothing to do with bad luck !
@@cafl9844 One race don't decide the title, I hear what you are saying to some degree but also if we take out the last race and look at the stats we all would say max deserves it.
@@sevedsplan5932100%. Max was a deserving champion in 2021 and you can't blame him for accepting the title. As a Max fan I was disappointed it happened that way. But RB and Max did their job to perfection that day, and had Masi let all the unlapped cars through earlier we wouldn't be talking about it. For me the real shame and ugly side of F1 came that winter. Latifi and Masi getting death threats was completely unjustified no matter what you think of them. It's just sport ffs. And Skyf1 did nothing but add fuel to the fire all winter break. It was a shame to see, and Max did the right thing by boycotting the channel
Never forgive and never forget the farce of a season. And who knows If their cars from 2022-2024 wer legal? They got caught cheating with basically no consequences, because 6-7 Mio. are nothing compared to 100 Mio.
He grew up quite fast. He is not only a great driver, but he is typical Dutch, you don’t treat us disrespectful, Dutch people will tell you directly what’s on their mind, and give you an clear explanation, that doesn’t beat around the bush. We don’t care if it is Sky, no respect, bye. Max is clearly an exponent of that culture.
Sky took live free-to-air coverage away from us in the UK, so I'm 100% with Max on this, anything to chip away at Sky's monopoly. Hopefully he's continued the boycott into this year. The Dutch fans at Spa were a laugh when I went there, absolute credit to the sport.
Honesty is a great quality you guys have. Always straight to the point, no fucks given. Why beat around the bush and delay it? Tell it straight and get it over and done with, and move the f**k along.
Forget using his nationality as a justification for his ignorance. It’s F1! He knows how it goes. How would Max or the Netherlands 🇳🇱 react if the shoe were on the other foot? Max is responding to the daylight robbery of Lewis Hamilton - The headline could’ve been “Max Verstappen robbed of 2021 Title” but it wasn’t. So equally stereotyping Dutch nationals like that is enough to know the Dutch F1 fans 🇳🇱 would have been outraged too.
Honestly, Max reminds me more of the old-school drivers no BS no frills doesn’t want all the press and attention just wants to race and he loves honestly, we need more of this and less of the nonsense craziness that is just distracting. I would love to see it reach point where the drivers don’t have to deal with the nonsense and they’re actually treated as athletes and they don’t have to do all the press nonsense I would much rather see the teams just do a debrief with their driver afterwards discuss the race for a few minutes and then have that be that there’s no need to have 101 of the exact same interview.
Brit here and Max is absolutely right. Sky Sports are so biased and it shows through, they will always not acknowledge Max fully. I’m a Lewis fan but you have to respect Max’s achievements in F1, he is one of the best F1 drivers we’ve ever seen 🙌
people often forget the amount of young formula 1 fans max created along his journey till now. if not for being 3 times world champion( as in 2023) he should be respected for his contribution to f1. no matter who you support you can't argue that he is one of if not the best f1 driver in the history of this sport
well its clearly by mistake i thought i deleted that second comment but the real qst here why are you offended xd the comment is not even for ya so mind your buisness n do not act smart it does not suit you@@godzvnm7315
This is standing up for yourself done right. "One person in particular" no name drop. He knows who he is. Problem A is why I don't do B. Period. That's the only explanation you need and get.
Damn =) That answer was like dropping 4 gears down and send it. F1 for me is definitely about the racing, how cars being built for one purpose.. be the fastest on the track, than we take ppl who have super fast reflexes, balls of steel dragging down the track pushing these machines to thier limits, but when you get personalties of Max and Lewis, man.. thats the magic of the sport ...
You can add Will Buxton and Jolien Palmer to the boycott. The way they attacked Max after the Austrian gp was obnoxious. Utterly unprofessional. I understand that as an English man, you support Lando, but the bias and attack was disrespectful. Especially that laugh from Buxton at his colleagues who had a slightly different opinion. Disgusting. I say boycott them
He is damn right. Britts have gone uber toxic. In the Netherlands we never boo the britts. Our media is not toxic af on the brits. They have lost their minds.
I'm not a Lewis fan but that last race and it's absolute ludicrous rulings, pretty much making the rules up as they went along completely undermined the sport. To expect a pundit not to give an honest opinion on this is exactly the opposite of what I expect.
See that's fine, but bringing it up every over race for the last 2 years becomes beyond just giving an opinion, it's just pushing your own agenda at that point, which is what max is referencing
@@herozero8809 I think the the problem is that there is idea in British commentary that you can't be a bad loser and you must respect the winner. Leading to this situation where all of the sky commentary team & all of the drivers didn't say this is an embarrassment for formula F1 and stain on our sport and can never happen again. So now they just hint at the slight missed justice that went on, which becomes increasingly hard to avoid talking about, as it seems this it one of Hamiltons main motivators for staying in the sport.
Both George and Lando lost it by themseves. Lando was right behind Max on restart with newer tyres and let a near 2 second gap open by 1 lap. George just kept making his usual mistakes under pressure.
max is a legend and people should respect that his strong driving was the only way to cripple Hamilton and he done it. schumacher done it and the next guy to dominate after max will do it 2
I understand him but he says “you can’t live in the past” and he wouldn’t let Checo pass in Brazil because something earlier in the season happend. So I find that one weird
Checo needs to learn to finish 10 sec behind Max in the same car. Then he didn’t need the help of Max. Help from max in Brasil won’t help him in the end. Again he couldn’t stay behind Max, and even get before LeClerc.
You dont make any sense...you are comparing race rivalry between two racers to some 2 cent pit lane reporter from a biased media trying to be disrespectful and trying to bully a champion just because he cannot get over the feeling of something happened in the past season...
No one actually knows why he didn't let him past. Just because the media gave an explanation, it doesn't make it true. Only Max and RB know the real reason. Anyway, that's also in the past mate, let it go.
Would have been better if he acted petty instead. And did things to piss sky off. Nothing against max. Not his fault for what happened in 2021. Next time be petty. It’s more fun.
I can't remember the channel 4 crew doing anything wrong and seen max interviews in the highlights show, I haven't watched sky in years so I can't comment on that
Controversy sells and gain clicks though, that's why social media and media is general is now so toxic. Not just Sky though. This post is a prime example of that kind of algorithm at work, it's from last year yet here it is today ( Sat 30Dec 2023 ) on my feed still spreading this rhetoric and riling people up.
perhaps if you respectful to other drivers it won't had happened to you. until now you acting as if you have all the rights and blame other for your mistakes. be hamble if you want respect!
Ted is a bit hit and miss. I prefer less drama and more facts but then that doesn’t fill all the screen time F1 programming gets. There’s a downside to popularity I guess.
